I've run into a problem where the board does not cleanup at designated hour if someone is on it. It cleaned up yesterday (3/6/06) fine per my trace file, but today i decided to log in about 10 minutes prior to see if it actually gave the messages and such. Well at 6 minutes after the hour it was still up with no cleanup messages. I decided I was going to bring the board down and check on my cleanup time to ensure it was correct. Upon logging off the board quickly cleaned up. I decided to test this a little and set it for the following hour. I logged in a few minutes prior---no cleanup. As soon as I hung-up the only account on the board---instant cleanup. Anyknow know where i might be running into problems? WG3.2 MMud v1.11p-beta13.

I am at work and don't remember this with exact step by step but..



Yeah right in the same section as where you have your "time of day for auto cleanup" is a "cleanup grace period". Default is 20 I believe. There's a little description after you find what I am talking about explaining what it does but I think I set mine to 0.



Btw you have to take the server down and then up to have your changes take effect. Which it will automatically do after cleanup.

Well, I changed the grace period to 0 and still have the "minutes of expressed warning" set to 5 minutes. The cleanup was set at 7pm. At 7:00:30 it killed the board with a user still online and ran cleanup. This is fine; however, it did not give any form of warnings leading up. Any suggestion in that department?

Ok first obvious reason is a global setting to not receive messages or an in mud setting to not receive them.



I would get into talking settings but again I am at work and I can't do that one from here. I need to look at the settings and offer suggestions.



Besides 9 times out of 10 you just miss the message. Use hyperterminal and just set at the main prompt.



Edit: It just occurred to me that you may have to set the grace period to something other then 0. Like 1 or 5. That's where a good test server is handy. If I get a chance I will test it for you tonight when I get home.
