From old to new, have a look back at the last 7 years of graphics. (http://accelenation.com/?ac.id.123.10) Cool for a little trip down memory lane. Oddly enough I still have a pair of Voodoo2 12MB cards sitting around my work bench for the sake of nostalgia.

It has been six years since first we started to collate the history of desktop 3D graphics at the turn of the Millennium. We left the story at the point where most of the field had fallen away, leaving the two-horse race between NVIDIA and ATI. It was at this point that a new lap of programmable technology had begun.

I won't even bother..until recently, the most I ever had in a computer was a 16mb. My last computer had only 4mb (whee!). The onboard video my Dell came with was almost nice enough for me, in comparision. Now I have Radeon's x300 series PCI Express and so far it's done all I've needed. Though, I must admit I wasn't used to a video card with a FAN on it!! Was wondering wtf my computer was doing to be so loud a few times when the ol' hamster in the head was taking a break.
