Okay, due to some prior complications, I uninstalled WG3.20 and MajorMud. Now, as I reinstall WorldGroup, everything goes smooth. I put in the reg. code, it copies files, etc. everything works... UNTIL it gets to the point where it's supposed to run the setup wizard where you can change your sysop password and set up everything else. That program will not run after setup like it's supposed to, nor can I manually run it. Also, NO .exe files will run. Namely, wggsappgo.exe (the start file). Anyone else experience this? How'd you get around it?

remove wg from add/remove programs in control panel

c:\wgserv\>cd\

c:\>deltree /Y wgserv

make sure all wg entries in registry is gone

*reinstall wg*

voila

I've done that, but it does nothing

do u get error message? what windows version? did you try installing in different directory? have you tried demo install?

Everything works peachy, for the most part. I have installed activation codes for mods, and I enter the realm. Time to create a character! Whee! I make my guy, and choose "Save" to enter the realm. The board crashes with this exact error "Btrieve insert error 22 on file ".\WCCUSER2.DAT"

I have searched forums for errors like that, but got nothing. Lemme guess, reinstall MUD?

When you installed MajorMUD did you install 1.11h or 1.11g? And if you installed G did you try to upgrade to H? I've heard of database corruption when trying to upgrade. Keep me posted.

I forgot... wg/mmud gives such descriptive error messages... I do know however most problems go away when you reinstall. Make sure the files from metro work fine.. then go about your business one step at a time. That way you know exactly what it is u do that causes problems

reinstalled and it's workin cool. I just can't get limited items to drop...

Try running an offline recovery to clear up the issue with limited's.
