The candidates we are supplied with are the corporate sanitized ones anyway. Shrug, politicians anymore are bought and paid for long before the voting begins or ends.

Your argument seems to imply that only the largest states should vote for a president, which I really don't think is what you're arguing. Please clarify that



My argument is clear. If the electoral college was not in place, only the largest states should need to be campaigned by presidents in order to get their election in the bag. With the electoral college, even the smaller states count.

You need 13 states to win the election under the electoral college system. Under a simple majority vote, even the little states would matter because their votes aren't weighted. How is that giving little states importance? Except when the top 13 states are split on the candidates.

sigh, there is no getting through to you. The government knows what they are doing. They wouldn't put a system like the electoral college in place, and keep it in place, without a reason. Let your country do the thinking, that's what they are paid to do.

I don't like arguing about things that are unchangable. There is no need to argue about why the electoral college is better than simple human votes. Your opinion is your opinion, mine is mine. There is no right or wrong here. It's all gray areas. I thought I could help you understand why the electoral college was set in place, and why it is still there. My main point in the topic is the post above. The government does the work, everything is set in place for a reason.
