Didn't see any replies to the trainers question. Personally, stock is fine by me, but for gods sake, add level 11 SOMEWHERE other than crypt. It's just nice having the option of totally skipping it. Also, as far as high level trainers...every mud I've ever played on, that I needed one of these "get a group together" type trainers, I got fucked on. Either 1) No one atk's, 2) Higher levels don't want to help, because then you'd be advancing, hence reducing the chances they'll be able to script area X or get weapon Y, and 3) I work 3rd shift, and as such would see even less people when I logged on.
Of course, that's just my thoughts. Keep up the work (good and/or otherwise).
Well the way the 65+ training area is designed you don't have to have a group. You have the option of just going through and easy training. I think I'm simply going to make the hard trainer a reward. IE put items on the bosses and make so if you hard train for 65+ you can go there to train all the way through max level. I'll leave the easy trainer there but I'll reduce the number of levels you'll be training there so you dont need a billion runic just to advance. As for level 11, I can add it to uni and aldreth. Cause that is rather annoying.

The level 11 trainer has brought up a good point. LIMS. I'm not exactly sure how I want to handle lims. Personally I really like limited items. Maybe I'll just some of the lims, I know some of them should be less limited..Like skull masks, anyone willing to save all the items and hit necro every couple hours should be able to get one. Unless Well thinking about it there is a whole world of ways to fix that. Hurm..I actually could make a buncha lim items that rather than being kill the monster won, have them be quest based...or something..I alrdy got this nifty quest where you kidnap a silvermere citzen and sacrifice them for an evil priest spell...hurm I guess i could do more like that...cackle.

def. have lims.. without lims it takes away a lot of the competition.. slighty raise some of the lims but dont make it so there isnt any.

Re: Its coming! [Archive] - ForumsHQ
yeah lims are a good thing but it also causes problems with people hoarding them when they no longer need them. but hey its all good i recon
Re: Its coming! [Archive] - ForumsHQ
Tails you loose? Anyway...yeah after some experimentation with other bbses I'm definately going to keep lims in the game. TY for the input.

Re: Its coming! [Archive] - ForumsHQ
Different spell trees... Every spellcaster is basically the same. Give a mage a token or something when they train and they can choose fire, ice, lightning, all 3 whatever and upgrade with tokens.
Re: Its coming! [Archive] - ForumsHQ

You mean like casters specialize in an element? What is this token? Does it have a purpose?

I mean spellcasters should have a spell tree where they can choose which spells they want to upgrade. For example this might be the mages spell tree...
Magic Missle
Pre-requisities: None
Max Level: 5
1: Damage 9-22@10 - 4+(0.5*lvl) to 12+(0.5*lvl)
2: Damage 15-30@10 - 10+(0.5*lvl) to 20+(1*lvl)
3: etc...
Lightning Bolt
Pre-requisities: Magic Missle Level 1
1:
2: etc....
Chain Lightning
Pre-requisities: Lightning Bolt Level 4
1:
2:
Sunbolt
Pre-requisites: Magic Missle Level 1
1:
2:
Fireball
Pre-requisities: Sunbolt Level 2
Meteor Swarm
Pre-requisities: Fireball Level 3
etcetc.....
So basically you learn magic missle as your first spell (or skill). After learning that you satisfy the requirements for learning a fire or lightning skill, lightning bolt or sunbolt. These skills will have a level restriction on them so you can either raise magic missle up a few levels, or save your skill points (tokens) until you can learn the higher skills. Later skills will be expensive to learn. Something like magma blast would require level 5 dragonfire and level 8 mana flux.
This would lead to a very interesting combination of skills on characters customizable by the user. I have no idea how it could be programmed tho.
Also this is based off the skill system in Ragnark Online which i played for a little while, there might be better systems out there.
