if you can figure out how to edit the logs on my router, then by all means... do it! its all encoded in flash memory on my router.... I can print them but thats about it... my ISP logged directly into my router with my admin account to view them... so uh yeah :P the ones on my bbs matched to the time of logon... yada yada... needless to say... everything is taken care of...

1 question: What legal trouble will this person get into for hacking a BBS that uses "tinkered" programs that total well over $5000???

Hacking regardless of price of software is illegal in the United States. Also there was damages to personal property.... I'm not one of legal caliber but needless to say... it doesn't look good for the person(s) involved....

they'll prolly pursue the person that did it and the owner of the bbs. Yeah, this is the way to get back at them!

You think this is going to be pursued? Other than maybe cancelling the person's isp acct and (a even bigger MAYBE ) threatening letter, they are not going to waste time on a junior wanna be hacker.

cancellation of the isp acct is an if as well. There are so many loopholes to jump through, he could not get shut off, if in fact that was his real IP.

Generally if its his real IP, his ISP will disconnect him and thats all. Unless the FBI needs to get involved, nothing more will come out of it.

Well, what we're forgetting here is he didn't exactly hack Microsoft and steal the source code for Windows.. The FBI won't be called.
