Well if it does work out the people who have been helping me will get some free gold for the effort.
Re: WoW: TW Discussion [Archive] - ForumsHQ
I've scoured the internet for hours searching for information on emulated WoW servers. Basically I've come to two conclusions:
1) Blizzard really really doesn't like them
2) The general concensus between those who have set up and/or played extensively on an emulated server is that it sucks. There are too many bugs and not enough rewards. Raiding is impossible due to lack of players. Very important quests and instances are unavailable due to bugs that prevent character progression in certain areas.
Has anyone ever spoken to someone who plays full time on one of these servers and has a good time doing it?
Blizzard doesnt like them because blizzard doesnt get your hard earned money.
So far the server isnt bad. If we can get more people on that would be cool. Im having a good time with the night elf. Since I know nothing about the world its an interesting learning curve. Best part so far was this morning I just got a quest done and right after I hit completed some level 10 monster tracked me down and had me for breakfast. I sat down at the angel for 10 minutes before the death restriction wore off. In that time I was able to feed our critters and do some dishes so I didnt have to do them when I got home from work:yeah:
I had a problem with those water bottles as well. I actually got mine by killing one of those ostrich looking birds and it drops a water jug.
Ive been reading about mages though and they look to be alot of fun. I may create one of them tonight or tomorrow night.

Here's some more to add to the list, in no particular order.
-Reproduced the combo point I spoke of earlier, all I was doing was melee and casting.
- You have to manually sit("x" key) to eat / drink, else it wears off immediately.
- Regeneration is broken, so spirit = useless atm
- If you complete a quest with an item reward, but have no inventory space, it poofs.
- I was sometimes seeing duplicate damage messages (though not damage) when in either spell or melee combat.
- The "Welcome Letter" item is for another server.
- Not all preferences are saved under Interface options. I have to go in and turn on my bottom left/right actionbars each time I enter the world.
I believe that's all I came across today, though I must admit I've barely played horde legit, so not sure if I'll even recognize all the bugs.

Is XP increased at all, and what about drop rates? Just curious. I'm planning to install tonight and check it out.
I have a couple of friends who'd love to take part once the beta stage is complete.
I play Horde on legit, so I'll probably give Zan some company on Alliance side for this server. It sounds like Hunters are a little broken, which is what I usually play so I'll go Rogue or Warlock, maybe Priest.
Also - aside from normal leveling characters, maybe we could each have an uber character to play with? There's obviously going to be a lack of players for awhile, might be nice to have some fully epic geared toons so we can play around in high-end instances. Alot of the gear you get comes from these high-end instances and are unobtainable except by 20-30 man raids or GM commands.

yeeeah, that's the golden question. Is XP increased? Unless I get wrapped up, I'll be installing it tonight.
Re: WoW: TW Discussion [Archive] - ForumsHQ
Well the drop rates for cash is about quadruple the normal cash droped by monsters that are equivilant to legit servers. As for exp I have yet to really test that, havent had a chance to really play as I'm getting my GM accounts setup for both factions.
Re: WoW: TW Discussion [Archive] - ForumsHQ
ok, Playing a DELF Warrior. Been putzing around with the first quest. the cash is nice, gave me enough to get a little armour.
The disconnects for me occurred anywhere from every 10 to 20 minutes.
BUT... I finally made level 2, killed a couple more critters, and then got bumped. Was about 20 minutes before I could log back in, and when I did, I discovered I was level 1 again... lost oh, about 300 exp.... and some of the new gear I had bought. did it reset somehow?

The cash is great. The exp isnt bad either. You can usually find enough to kill and a few quests to keep the exp moving (for now anyway) Usually when I level then I go complete a quest so I gain like half of the exp for next level then just find a few mons to whack and then boom im another level. It took me a while to gain 5 silver for duel-wield training but I was buying much needed armour in the meantime.

The server saves at certain intervals, i will prob try and up that. Are people still crashing out?

I havent crashed yet tonight but I did notice a BIG annoyance.
In crown of the earth mother or something like that one of a (I think) larger quests after you fill the vial with well water the game doesnt recognize it as full and therefore you cannot complete the quest. Im a Night-elf doing warrior quests. You have to go visit the elf at the way top of the tree for this quest.
