it's points based. you get points based on how each of your players performs. check out the league settings or the post i posted with the settings.

reckless and i discussed and decided to change the scoring type to "head-to-head." points is better for the other sports but in football head-to-head seems to make more sense.



What is the difference between a Head-to-Head and Points League?

In a Head-to-Head League you will square off weekly against other coaches. You each set a lineup based on league requirements, and whoever ends up with the most fantasy points -- based on your league settings -- wins the game. Weekly results are then tallied into an overall record.

In non-playoff leagues, the team with the best winning percentage wins the championship. In playoff leagues, the top teams have an elimination tournament to determine a winner.



In a Points League, you are shooting to be the highest scorer within your league. Set a weekly lineup based on league requirements and hope your players collect more fantasy points then anyone else's players. Points are tallied throughout the football season, and the team with the highest total at the end of the year wins the league championship.

Won't we need an even # of teams for head-to-head? If it's odd, we'll have to do points, right?

there is this option in the settings that i can turn on and off for that:



Bye Points Details

If your league has an odd number of teams and you choose to award points during bye weeks, your team will have fantasy points added to its yearly total even in weeks when you do not play a game (i.e. have a bye). You may want to do this if you use points as a season-ending tiebreak method.

If you choose not to award points during bye weeks, your team will simply not score any points in any week that you do not have a game.



Leagues with an even number of teams will never have bye weeks.



Also, please note that this refers to head-to-head fantasy matchups played by your team. You do not ever receive scoring for players during their real-life bye week.
