Dark, I do not see working on my program as a waste of time. It is something that I enjoy immensely, and I have learned a lot by doing it.

I created this program for only one reason. To provide myself with a MajorMUD terminal on my favorite platform. Not as something 'for the masses' or to blow away MegaMud. If only a few people ever use it, that is fine by me.

Platnum, a Windows port would basically require re-writing it from scratch. I do not use Windows at home so I have no real desire to do so.

Someone else is going to have to take the initiative on a replacing MegaMud.

werd. i like your attitude. Been waiting myself for a good linux mud client. I hate having to run wine and mega. It SUCKS. You oughta do a couple things, though. Start something on sourceforge and submit something to freshmeat. You'll get a ton of response from there i'm sure.

Ok i'm done multi-posting.

the programming language has nothing to do with it. BSD is BSD. not linux. The kernels themselves are constructed totally different and just the way the system runs is totally different. There really are no similarities at all between freebsd and linux. They may LOOK the same, but run completely different and interpret things differently.

FreeBSD is NOT linux. i hate it when people compare the two. FreeBSD is much faster, more secure and more versatile then ANY linux distribution.

FreeBSD is a derivitave of Unix, I'm sorry for saying linux, but it makes no difference in this application. I understand that FreeBSD is better and yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah. The point of my post was to say that if he installed the right libraries, it would work fine.

Got a little bit of news for those who are interested...

My project is now being hosted on sourceforget.net. From there you can download releases or get the latest CVS. Also, I have decided not to use the IRC channel anymore. If you would like to reach me, message me on AIM. My name there is Khamsin27.

Here is a link to my project page on SourceForge:
