Characters who are inactive for a certain amount of time (a few weeks? can't recall) will have their limited items reindexed automatically.

For limiteds in shops or on the ground, IIRC there's a small daily chance that they will get reindexed as well.

Even though I paid for the software, well worth the project, thanks EE...

Quote from: EvanElias on September 15, 2010, 12:11:30 AMYeah, 0.99 was the last release. There's still a few sites who keep archives of many BBS door zips; easiest bet is just googling the file name you want. (I don't want to link to a particular site and jack up their bandwidth.) Here's the file names you want to google:

DOS version: DMUD099.zip

Windows version for Synchronet boards: DMUD099S.zip (also used to ship pre-installed with Synchronet, hopefully it still does)

Windows version for door32.sys boards: DMUD099D.zip

World Editor (includes DOS and Door32 versions): WORLD099.ZIP

I'm really sorry to bring this up again... But is there anywhere online where I can get the pro activation code? Me and the people on my server would really appreciate it. We'll pay through the registration if you want us to, the only issue is that all the ways to register through payment are down now.

Alas, those links let me register, but none of them let me register the pro version.

Quote from: EvanElias on September 13, 2010, 11:38:24 PMI've given this a lot of thought, and reconsidered my earlier post. This summer marks 10 years since the first release of DoorMUD, and 13 years since I first started the project as the single-user bbs game "Land of the Forgotten"... it's about time to make an announcement like this I guess.

Evan, i'm glad you're releasing a keygen to doormud. i dont expect you to release the sourcecode, that is your
prerogative. I am glad you didnt release it to doug because we know that he charges money for cracks that were giving to him by people in the bbs community.

Regarding why you didnt continue to develop doormud and your bbs related other projects, i think it's unfair to blame "pirates".

you could have EASILY prevented ANY type of piracy. this excuse was just your way to back out of the community and save face.
Truth be told, you are not well liked the the bbs community or mbbs community.

there's nothing wrong with saying you're bored with something. or you used to be a bad programmer and you got a bit better and now you hit a wall working on the old code.

Anyways, dont meant to be nasty here, just want to set the record straight.
good luck in your future endeavors, that closet you call an apartment, and tumblr [whatever that is]

if you ever want to get together for a few beers, let me know. i travel all the time and you're okay in my book.

Sometimes it's just not worth the effort to try and fight the pirates. You make some sort of registration process, there is a keygen or crack out for it within a week.
