Grin, I dont blame him.. Dont run a BBS without a dedicated server, and a second sysop/mudop who will do ALL the work(IE- Get a n00b, they'll do anything to be sys:D). Just playing mud alongside RL was too much for me- take those two and add in the sys-owner responsibilities, life begins to suck.

i really think ray should just whack a backup in (who cares if its 2 days old) and get things going again.



the bbs ran surprisingly well WITHOUT any sort of support - ray was basically absent for over a week, and everything was great. even though he may be too busy etc. to run it - the edits were awesome, the realm was cool and there was lots of shit to do / people to kill etc.



i think ray just needs to cut down (i.e. DELETE) any other sysop accounts on the board; including 'mudop' ones, so that he can be in sole control. i just dont think ray has any other 'friends' trustworthy enough to be a mudop/sysop along side him (maybe im wrong).



anyway, bring it back ray, we all still want to play =(

had a long reply, and lost it, so here are some of the basics of what i said



i have wanted to down this board since 1 day after i started it. don't ask me why i put it back up after reset, maybe i thought i had somethin to prove



in hindsite, i'm very pleased with how it turned out, but i have learned that i'm never going to do anything like it again. fuckin deca alone gave me enough grief to make runnin this not worthwhile...



i cannot stand being so limited. while the board was running i could only transfer at less than 1/3rd the speed of normal to have ppl not complain of lag.



i don' thave a working backup. syntax told me i should've initiated it, but i never did, and now the board is f00ked, all of those who were 'rolled will be 'rolled, there's no way around it short of editting all of their chars back.



if u guys wanted the board still, there is only 1 person left i'd give it to, to host it. he has not yet contacted me in interest, but if he would, i would give it to him.



and speed/plat whatever d00ds. this isn't a "things got hacked so i quit" thing. yes i am a quitter, but that is a different thing. this is a "i can't get my 'transfer' on, ooh look someone fucked up, i have an excuse to down it"
