You have a cd burner? You should be able to take the files for the boot disk and make a bootable cd using nero.

this is a good point. if it is still trying to boot off of a different non-booting drive then it's gotta be either the bios or jumpers. did you try setting them as cable select with them hooked up on the IDE cable like i said earlier? what if you switch the channels too? try putting the secon hard drive on like the secondary ide channel. i'm assuming you have a cd-rom drive too, so put it on the second channel as a slave.

tried all this, no change. im takin it in to a friend who works in an IT department for the local hospital. Hopefuly he can fix my problems.

I work in the IT department for a school district. I do all sorts of repairs, both hardware and software, and I'm very good at both. I know the "I" in IT stands for information, but I don't think it's refering to software. If it is, it's not set in stone. IT to most people is just a general term for a technology person/industry/business/job/etc.

I don't think there is an IT division at every company, and then a "computer hardware" division. The IT guys handle software, hardware, network, everything dealing with computers.
