I don't know of this bone necklace thread, but are you refering to the "Deatroy on Death" flag? if not, where is the byte so I can include it in NMR.

p.s. if anyone KNOWS where shit is in the dats that isn't in NMR ... PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

No, I mean there's a byte that determines whether an item poofs when it's out of uses, like a gnarled wand or potion, or if it stays with you like a quest cloak or stormmetal bracers. There's also one that determines if it's stealable. I'm pretty sure there's also one that determines if it's stackable (like black diamonds where you can drop 100 in 1 room). The former 2 I'm positive of because I had to find the bytes when I made some items for Sinister Urge. Sorry, don't know where they are off the top of my head but when I get a chance I'll try and relocate them for ya.

Nod there are item flags for Stealable and for Recharge, I haven't gotten around to the other maps yet.. I'm still here and will work on it, Syntax, if Atma can't remember.
And this forum is definitely the place to go for answers to some very specific types of questions. Y'all are better at answering tech questions than even the Sysop forum.
But there are probably 10 people in the world who knew about the recharge flag, so you'd be unlikely to get that question answered either place. Recently Izak started a board for some of the more elite players in the game, and we couldn't find anyone suitible to nominate. There are very few top-quality players left.
With you and I here, Atma, and now that Remik has quit.. the balance has shifted somewhat. I've been wanting to steal some of Mud Central's popularity for a while. I thought if there was a chatroom or something where I could answer questions faster than the forum people might flock to it. But it hasn't happened yet :(
And yeah, Frost's been lying for years.. I played on that board for quite some time, and we'd die 10 times tryin to kill the huge gruesome creation, and then when we did it Frost would go post that we killed it 3 times and nobody ever died. But we still killed it, and no one else had come close.
Well this post has no point, and this conversation doesn't belong in the NMR forum anyways, but I posted it ;)
PS - I think "stackable" is controlled by the item type, but I'm not sure on that one.

I think that can mostly be attributed to the fact that it's easier for Metro to say "reset" than to come up with a real answer. And by saying "reset" they don't risk giving an answer that doesn't work.

I wonder how long it took Metro to figure out it was there. I still remember seeing a bone necklace poof the day mod 7 came out. That guy was PISSED.

The biggest problem there is that most people that are just that damn good are on a high horse and they don't get along that well. I laugh everytime I see Frost and Cyan take potshots at people. It's nice to see Metro looks out for that kinda thing in their ops.

I shouldn't even be here... I disappeared a while back because the doctor told me to cut the stress whereever possible and just started back outta boredom. My heart's not gonna explode at 21. Still might wind up having to disappear again though. Anyway, that thing about Remik was a shocker. But watching the poll thread with you and Izak while Remik gave doubt to Cyan and Frost's claims that the crash bug was never reported... Well that just made my week. Especially since from what Aeriana told me in the past, I know what you said is true. I eagerly await their next major release and all the amusing bugs it shall contain.

Yeah, I know the feeling. I was working on a mud site to try and steal some of their thunder for a while now. Taking a while though because I want to get just about every last bit of info about the minorest details in it. As one can tell from my long-winded, novel-sized posts, I don't like to leave anything left unsaid. Except that Metro forgot to add a nomonster check in the great hydra's room and you don't actually need to kill him. .... Oppps, did I just say that out loud? Oh well, no biggie, Izak's got better things to do with his time than read here. Like make mod 9 NPCs talk about their own or others' sex lives.

LOL. That's just golden. Thanks, man.

Not much has a point around here. :)
Oh, and I figured it was by that too... but I noticed after enough dreadlord kills that the black iron greaves were stacking. Doesn't make any sense that armor would be set to stack but then again it also doesn't make any sense that a room with a river of lava would be dimly lit. So I may be wrong, I'm just assuming.

Our mudop posted to the sysop forum, I posted to MMB. Wanna know what he got for answers? "Maybe there's someone ugly playing there. j/k" "Try running a recovery." Psst... mud automatically runs a recovery after every crash. What did I get here? Granted, I didn't get an answer to the problems but I got a lot better insight than the mudop did from the sysop forum.
Thats because we investigate the problems and try and resolve them. Not try and come up with a quick fix and hope it works. :D

Either I got a streak of REAL bad luck with the rob command, or I found the stealable/unstealable byte. The item in question here is the rainbow stone. The byte is highlighted, and a value of 01 sets it as stealable and a value of 00 sets it as unstealable. Still not positive, so somebody might wanna check hehe.

Will work on finding the poof/no poof byte... shouldn't be hard, I'm pretty sure it was the one right next to it, but I forget.

Yep, it is. 01 before the one highlighted is the poof/no poof byte. 00 means poofs when uses are gone, 01 means it stays and gives out of uses messages like quest cloaks.

Another note, I changed black diamond to food (which I know doesn't stack cuz I tried to put 1k roasts by the dreadlord for spamming 1 hp heals hehe) and they still stacked. So I think it is a byte, gonna work on locating that one too. Will post when/if I find it.

Got it. This one was a pecker to find though because I was expecting a simple 00/01 difference... and it wasn't. Quite frankly, I don't know how this works, all I know when I changed the highlighted byte from FF to 01, they stopped stacking. So I figured if I change it to 02, the room will hold 34 of them instead of 17. Wrong, still 17. Back to FF, and I can stack about as many as I cared to try (got to about 70-something and quit). So the only values I know work are 01 as unstackable and FF as stackable... even though when I checked a lot of different items have different values there. Anyway, item is black plate leggings (as you can see hehe)...
