God DAMN do I hate some fucking sysops

A lot of legit users and sysops i don't care for. IMO i think they have all been brain washed by Metro to think poorly of us. Just try to hold a conversation with them, and you'll soon get flamed down to size.



Edited a bbs is not as easy as they believe. One sysop alone takes on the duties of a whole team that metro has. Coming up with ideas, creating items that are not over powered, name/describing them all, and beta testing. Not to mention all the sysop duties - dealing with bitch users, tending to their every need, fixing problems with worldgroup, yadda yadda. Its a full time job!



Now, these sysops all share the belief that we're punk kids without a clue, fucking up their game. When in fact, we know the game inside and out, we have been playing for years. We now expect more from the game, and get enjoyment from creating and running it.



Now, here on MMB there is an awful lot of immaturity and flaming going on. This is explained easily with the fact that we are a group of sysops and players. (and what do players do best? BITCH!) .. Don't ever let a legit sysop think he is special in any sort of way. Don't ever let one lead you to believe that they are more professional then you. Infact, if you had any idea the amount of bullshit, name calling, immature kid like activity that takes place on their 'secret sysop forums' you would not believe it. These sysop's would be down right embarrassed if such information on their behavior was released to the MUD community! This was supposed to be a forum to help and aid sysops. Now its turned into the biggest spam ring of e-mail i've ever seen. Please, most of these sysops don't even know how to phrase their questions, let alone answer them. (except for Mr.Lunn, he's good, smart, and a no nonsense sysop)

As for Mistress ... She's one cool bitch! If you had any idea how bad her fellow legit sysops talk her down for being an ex-hexor, you would feel down right sad for her. So rumor has it metro threatened her into going legit. She obviously enjoys being a sysop, let her do what she will... (oh, and btw mistress, i've seen first hand if you reroll with only 2000 exp, you will NOT keep 10% - im sure one of these users could explain when and why this happens)



Now, to tackle the matter of legit edited realms. here's my two pennies....



Metro should not be afraid to let sysops edit their realms. Besides the fact that they can charge an arm and a leg for an editor, they will still be the driving force behind majorMud. (lets face it, all we do is play with databases, we do not have the code, we cannot fix bugs and rebuild the combat system to handle level 70+ characters) All metro has to do, is revert their license agreement NOT to make editing illegal, but just void any support. (we all know how fucked up we can get a realm with just a few edits). It will be up to the sysops to do, well, everything i stated way way way above...



Now, for the MajorIdeas forum i created.. GO USE IT FUCKERS! GO GET UR USERS TO USE IT TOO!.. It was created for ideas to be tossed around, to take some of the load off sysops. why aint it being used? Is it the fact that i'll be building my own realm out of its ideas? HEY, its all part of taking the load off of sysops, THEY CAN SEE THESE EDITS IN PLAY! (so can metro! now c'mon, how great is that for them?)

Would it make a difference, is it even possible, for me to setup Vbulletin to share MMB's database and cookies? Would you guys use it, if you didn't need to create another account on my forums? (answer that aragon).. I mean fuck, i even offer free porno!

Everyone has their own opinion on what sysops they like or not, mistress and her husband I cant stand at all, they ALWAYS look like they are either sucking up to metro or their users.



Anyways, your views on editing a board and running it are valid to a point, When Im going to make a edit or add something, I ask the users for ideas when I cant think of anything.

Sure, some of their requests are really fucking stupid but when I ran my old board, I would put in an item or a place and say..Okay people, try it out and tell me what you like about it.

Sometimes the item was overpowered so id cut it down...Against my wishes sometimes but hey, its the users who have to play with it.



I was playing this realm where i had over 20k hps and i was level 110..Had a edited spell called Snow Storm and I simply could NOT be killed by anything...Id kill the regen anywhere i went and id be doing about 3000-4000 a round!!

Also for a measly 150 runics you can get lap dances and get permant hps anytime you wished and it was sooo BORING!!

Looking back at it now, I think the sysop should of either rejected the idea of lap dances and snow storm but again, I wasnt the one to decide and I know alot of people in that realm who were bored out of their mind.



so anyways, to a point it can be difficult to edit a board but then you can always use a users advice in deciding.
