Er, uhm, replace "animals" with "people" and "vets" with "doctors" and explain to me your rationale for different treatment... The only difference is whether or not it asked to be fixed. And I'm pretty sure it's safe to say (backed with centuries of philosophy, psychology, and sociology) that every creature's main goal is to stay alive; plain and simple.

That was a really good point about the seemingly double-standard, but let me better explain what I meant...



The different treatment comes from the fact that we were given free-will by whatever it was, be it a deity or forces of nature, that created us. Animals don't have this luxury, humans make the decision for them. Yes, every creature's main goal is to stay alive, but if they get into a situation where they become diseased, then their immune system must not be up to par. If they become seriously injured, then they were obviously reckless and again, are not fit to survive. Survival of the fittest? Only the strong survive... that's the rule that governs nature, and the point of my last sentence in that post was that we are interfering with nature.



But that is completely off-topic, it was just an inane rant on Vets... the point of my original posts is that, if chickens are bred to die, it really doesn't matter how they die. And my question to all that feel that these chickens have rights still stands, unanswered: What do you that care plan to do about it?

Humans have felt that it is the right thing to feed animals processed food, instead of a raw diet. NONE of my, nor my families animals feed them anything buy a raw diet. My sisters dogs eat 10lbs of raw chicken p/week, bone and all. they're healthy and happy. But most of all they have a very healthy immune system, not one that is stuggling because of mankinds interference. Dogs & Cats are meat eaters, they're not designed to eat kibble, or non meat products.



No animal deserves that was seen in that video, regardless of what they were bred for. In jail the death penalty is lethal injection, because it's humane, dont the animals we eat deserve the same respect.

Yea I agree with raw diets, that's what they eat in nature. Dog and cat food is nothing but crude fiber. If anything it just makes them shit more :)



Well that's fine and dandy that no animal deserves the treatment in the video, but like I said twice before, what is your plan of action for preventing it? It seems useless to take a stand against something and then not follow-up on it. Chances are you nor anyone else on this board will do anything about it because you may not agree with it, but it doesn't inconvience you or affect your physical life in anyway.
