Personally I don't understand the draw of getting massive exp and getting levels 150+. Sure it's fun for a few days, maybe a couple of weeks but eventually you've solo'd everything in the game and prolly have ungodly every stat and are equivilent to 10 characters. In my opinion mud unhacked is broke enough at high level yet to make it worse by sky rocketing to 75+ in a week and giving players weapons and items much more overpowered than anything legit. So what do you end up with? Retarded bosses that do horrifically dumb amounts of damage to give you an illusion of challenge but it really comes down to who rounds who. Oh and that is exactly what regular mud is....

My idea is (i of course need to test it first) is to up exp charts slightly to slow growth a tiny bit but up the rate of which you get hps, hp regen, mana, and mana regen. The point would be to that if people had enough hps battles could last longer and have more strategy as bosses wouldn't be rounding you and you wouldn't round them.

Now i'm not sure as though this idea will work and it would definatly require reworking some things, perhaps alot of bosses so they have some more hps as well or more ac. Pretty much the idea would be to try and scale it so you will continue to do better but it won't get rediculously out of hand and boss fights could last longer and wouldn't involve giving them something stupid like room drain to put up a fight.

Work or not I'm trying to figuere some way to increase the longivity(sp?) of the game and perhaps bring more meaning to boss fights than crossing your fingers and hoping for a good round. I like the challenge of regular mud so i'm not all about the crazy hacks myself, but I do not enjoy waiting years for metro to put out any new content.

I personally have come to a point where, I have played mud in general for so many years that I am bored of it, it doesn't matter what you do to majormud, until the dumb cow (Shannon) releases the source and opens mmud up, so it can be made into something fantastic, it will always be the same old boring crap.

I have played on both the power 10+ exp boards, and 5x boards, and legit boards they're all the same shit. It just doesn't matter what you do to it, it is still the same as every other version of majormud.

regardless of what color you spray paint a poodle, it'll still be a poodle!

Here's an idea. How about Metro gets off their asses and frees majormud from the shackles of worldgroup.

it'd be easier for someone to "emulate" the general functioning of majormud for a standalone client then to modify the current worldgroup api based majormud..., a lot of functions used in majormud are from the worldgroup API.... i'd nominate locke cole for this, i simply loved his combat simulator and map simulator... awesome... :)

i mean... who cares if it's exactly like metro's majormud? just so long as it's compatible with MegaMud (heh what a crutch)..

locke was going to do that, and still might, but hes trying to buy majormud right now...and wont help anyone wanting to do that :nono:

So, maybe if metro tells him off he might be pissed enough to be motivated to make a clone..

So uh.. That means youve played MudRevolution to lev 255? I would have to say its not the 'same ole' shit. Until you've been to the Venshire module, then you haven't 'done it all'.. I think its funny when people get bored of Mud but havent tried MudRev, if your that bored with Mud, sounds like you need to go buy everquest or somethin..

fuck you Miles. It's still Majormud it's still the core, it hasn't fucking changed. And I'll never play EverWhore, that isnt mud, that is pathetic bullshit.

And Miles I'm back on Lunar, Lunar is the only board worth playing on. It isn't the game that makes mud unique, it's the people.
