Definitely will be a good possibility for doormud v1.x. Getting the Windows version done is a higher priority, but definitely might do a *nix port after that :) I'm writing all code with portability in mind these days (clean wrapper functions) and I'm taking a *nix Systems Programming course in the fall... so I'll have all the *nix socket and interprocess communication stuff down hardcore. Plus the third-party libraries I use (SQLite, Mozilla Spidermonkey, OpenDoors) all have *nix versions... so yeah, definitely a possibility.
No chance for porting the current engine (v0.9x) tho... that code is hideous, wasn't meant for porting, and the DOS-to-Windows port was mostly done with like 100 #ifdef's :wahh:

i'm not trying to be a party pooper i sware, but i just don't think we have the bandwidth to do it. if we get our users back where we have about 50-60 users it was like right on the border of being laggy. how much bandwidth in kBytes/user does doormud use? xetox would have the ultimate decision beings it's his stuff though.

Bandwidth per user in DoorMUD should be less than bandwidth of a user in MajorMud... DoorMUD has a little less output (less flavor/descip text, less attacks per round; but slightly faster rounds) and less input (since it's a non-scripted game), shrug.

Ugh, that's kind of a tough question actually...
The original Basic reg was *paid for* by Xetox, but with a *registration form* by Admiral Acid, with a reg'd-to name of Admiral Acid.
The DoorMUD Pro add-on reg was courtesy of Aragon, for Xetox + AA.
So yeah, I'd consider it all co-ownership of Xetox, AA, and Aragon... if all 3 agree to a transfer, then it's cool... but otherwise I'd say prob not, since they all have a group claim to it.
