I know here in California you can find pipes and Water pipes (bong is a BAD word in the places here too) almost EVERYWHERE. I mean a new place just opened up down the street from my house that sells every single piece of glass or pyrex you could ever need or use. All they have to have is a sign that states "These products are for Tobacco only" and its legal here. Of course i doubt anyones gonna smoke tobacco outta the five footer but thats just me. I bet somewhere someone has. so its all good n legal.
And we Legalized Marijuana here for medicinal reasons. Hell my brother has a prescription for it to help his ass sleep at nights. He used to have bad insomnia and would stay up for days, sometimes a week straight. Give him a fuckin Joint, and his ass goes to sleep and actualy stays asleep. They tried pills, he'd just be awake and groggy as fuck. So they put him on Marijuana and its been working for a year and a half. so dont tell me thres No medicinal use. I used to hang around with a few people i knew had Aids. They gave them those shitty THC pills. They would get rid of those and get the real thing because the pills have side effects that real Marijuana doesnt. Anyone who has Aids, Cancer or serious pain in this state has the option of getting Marijuana as an alternitive to highly addictive pills. And thank what ever god there is for that.

He made the bongs for selling... the merchant has no say over what the customer uses a product for. Should all knives be illegal because they COULD be used for stabbing people?
I stabbed the newspaper guy and took his little truck, now i stab people and drive away im like "Putt Putt Putt Putt."!

You will regret the legalization because they won't make it legal to grow in the home, only to be sold through authorized resellers. More than likely through liquor licenses, much the same way cigarettes are sold legally. You will pay much higher prices for them because they will be manufactured much like cigarettes, etc.
I don't see any possible way that legal marijuana would cost more than the currently ridiculously-inflated price for illegal marijuana.
Isn't it presumptuous to say that he has no say in what they're used for, but most marijuana bongs/pipes wouldn't benefit a cigarette or pipe smoker. Let's get serious, free enterprise has it's limits. When something is made for one sole purpose, like the bongs were, they have no other valid uses and therefore couldn't be compared to knives which have a multitude of uses outside of illegal ones.
Bongs can also be used for smoking salvia, daga, strong tobacco, and other legal relaxing herbs.
Pipes/bowls can also be used for tobacco.
Chillums can also be used for cigarettes and cigars.
And don't forget Hookahs, a type of water pipe which is used far more frequently for smoking flavored molasses tobacco than it is for smoking marijuana.
ANY of these types of colored glassware can also be considered artistic and beautiful.
So basically, I'd say that it's completely incorrect to say that these things MUST be used for marijuana.

I'm not sure as to exactly why Chong is going to jail for it, since there are hundreds of internet head shops that deliver next-day to your door.
Not anymore :( The Feds shut down the 20+ largest online glassware retailers within a one-week period last year. Chong's was included in that, along with many other ones (including my favorite, ColorChangingGlass.com , which had some of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen)

I'm not saying there aren't other uses, you could go on all day with what they could be used for. The question is feasibility of those claims. Should we be allowed to own grenades because they make great paper weights? It's rather insulting for someone as educated as Evan to try and loophole the common sense of laws. (Whether they're based on common sense or not.) I've said it 3 times now. Get out and vote, get your friends out to vote, get whoever you know out to vote. Then and only then will issues like this get looked at.

There are much worse things to worry about than people smokin pot and what they smoke it out of. Our government needs to get their heads out of their asses and work on REAL problems like people abusing welfare. That's something that hurts us ALL as taxpayers. The casual, or even the chronic potsmoker is hurting NOBODY, and I mean NOBODY but themselves, if even that. People can have 7 kids and no job and nobody says anything, but someone wants to puff on their own free time and its a fuckin crime? Gimme a break. I'm proud to be from America but our government is somethin else... and before anyone says "if you don't like it why don't you leave"... I HAVE checked into moving to Canada. They just need to lighten up on "crimes" that only hurt the person committing them. If I were to get high, who would that hurt? Only myself, hypothetically, since weed is so bad for the smoker. Who else is being hurt? Hmmmm just the government cuz they can't get taxes from it, which I think is the same reason they give out tickets to people who don't wear a damn seat belt. If I'm not wearing a seat belt and I get in an accident, I Die. So what. I don't hurt anyone else. They only care cuz they lose a taxpayer. Greedy bitches, they should all burn in hell.

Those claims are all completely feasible, and I have in fact personally used glassware for all of the legal purposes that I listed above.
Should we be allowed to own grenades because they make great paper weights? It's rather insulting for someone as educated as Evan to try and loophole the common sense of laws.
I'm not "loopholing" anything. I'm trying to point out that it's:
a) stupid to make selling or owning a frickin piece of glass a federal crime
and
b) stupid to outlaw something because it COULD facilitate a crime, even though the object has other functions, AND that crime can be commited without need for said object, AND that crime isn't even a violent one in the first place. Comparisons to grenades are way off the mark. Honestly, I can't think of any comparable analogies at all in US law that are remotely like the drug paraphenalia laws.
Are you aware that the justice department tried to rule that water bottles in clubs can be considered drug paraphenalia since MDMA users drink lots of water? What kind of nonsense is that? (Of course, the ACLU beat that ruling down, and for good reason!)
I've said it 3 times now. Get out and vote, get your friends out to vote, get whoever you know out to vote. Then and only then will issues like this get looked at.
I do vote. I don't see your point, since there's never been anything like a referendum to repeal federal drug paraphenalia laws.

I'm gonna start a head shop one day. I'll take over just like Microsoft did. I just have to wait for the right time, and then BAM, I'll have a thousand shops up across the country. You just wait. You'll all see.

You guys should try tabac. Its tobacco with honey, glycerin, or molasses, and some flavoring, usually fruit but I've smoked mint, coffee, gum (it sucked) and cotton candy (also sucked). Its awsome. You smoke it with a nargileh, which is a pipe that looks and works a lot like a bong. It smolders the tabac, then filters it through water, so it tastes great. You can even fit an attachment on it for actually burning junk, like hashish. I love mine. Most people in the states call them chookahs. Thats the Persian word for it. Go figure.
