i agree with you speed (of course, since we always seem to agree). though what is smith's motive? it's not like he should care about protecting the matrix anymore so does he just want to kill neo or is he on a power trip?
Smith is a virus, all he is there to do is destroy. I'm unsure of a motive other than that. Perhaps the motive is in Agent Smith's speech to Morpheus towards the end of the original Matrix. I cannot remember the exact speech, and I'm quite stoned, but I know it was important and had to do with mankind. He hates people, maybe he wants to destroy Zion (the only people that are out of computer control) so bad and he has to get through Neo to do it. shrug. I wish I had the original matrix here with me, that would be so fun to watch right now.
Some things I'm curious about are the twins, and why the hell there aren't more like them, and why they aren't more powerful. All they are is a program, and they seriously break the rules in the matrix. If a program can be written to do that, why can't one be written that can destroy Neo easily?
I love how a movie can spark this much thought out of my brain. It's crazy.

"Something's differant.. I can feel them."
If they were still in the matrix.. wouldnt he have done so earlier on? What is the,"Real world"? After all.. untill they got out of the Matrix, that was the real world.. Who's to say escaping the matrix is a direct door to freedom..? Wouldnt it be wise to install a few fail-safes? like.. 3 layers of matrix? Or at the very least.. two? Then if someone finds a way out.. They're still in a world where you can hit F6, Ctrl+C, then hold Ctrl+V and copy 250 thousand sentinels; Instead of accually devoting all those resources.
Or. The universe is of some type of matrix.. most likely not computer controlled, but.. there has to be an area to have void (Void being space without matter.. there has to be something hosting that,"Space.") before you place matter there.. Its a harsh transition, But being that the Matrix is meant to simulate the,"Real world" and all rules of reality; Would it not stand possible that, by learning, and understanding how to manipulate the matrix, You could come to understand how reality works, and thus how to manipulate it... as if it were the matrix.
I kinda like the EMP Pulse theory.. dispersing all that energy would put him in a state of shock.. thus the coma.. Unfortunetely it does cover how he could,"Feel" the sentinels. Also,"Air" is horrible at conducting electricity.. One dispersing all of their energy.. would maybe take out one- And thats with direct contact..
As far as him still being in the matrix goes.. Possible if his memory were copied, and the matrix used the information to create a second matrix to simulate the real world, and the matrix, under itself.. that would have allowed him to save Trinity, (Maybe she didnt really go into the matrix- They just showed us what was happening in the simulated real world, so we wouldnt know everything) and then exit to the real world, where he later realized he still had the ability to screw the rules. I have many doubts about this theory though.
Alot of this movie doesnt connect still.. Like when they cant,"see" him.. hes connected into the matrix.. you could eeeeaaaasily tap into what hes seeing, and hearing, ect. through the datajack in his neck; and display it on the monitor(rather that 'reading' the matrix- which I believe is a load of horseshizt. If you look at the the text characters, size.. and how fast they're going by.. theres not even enough information going by to play MUD, much less see whats going on in the matrix.)

I would enjoy the Matrix series more if Kaenu Reeves wasn't in it. No matter how hard I try, I just can't take that guy seriously. He isn't buff, he isn't the stuff and he's kind of a joke.
Remember him in the Raplacements as Shane Falco? ROFL
What a piece of ass that movie was. It's pretty sad when his role in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was his most worthwhile performance.
Here's an inside tip, save your hard earned deniro, and don't go see the Matrix Reloaded. You already know Neo and his pseudo jedi knights will save the day. *YAWN*
Hold out for Jason vs. Freddy. Hands down the most promising film of the summer.
Neo might be runnin' s**t in the Matrix, but Jason will always be top dog.

Last accual bid was $10,100 from a power seller.. and if hes crap, there another powerseller at $9,100 with over 2k transactions(and only 3 negatives) so its no bull.. but.. LOL, thats fwcked up!

An alternate matrix would be a horrible way to go about the series. It's unoriginal and played to death. The Wachowski brothers (hopefully) would not beat a dead horse. It's the first theory to come into everybody's mind that watches the movie. That's not what the matrix is about. I'm not saying your theory is flawed, I'm simply saying that it's the most basic theory in the world and would be an insult to the movie.
Or. The universe is of some type of matrix.. most likely not computer controlled, but.. there has to be an area to have void (Void being space without matter.. there has to be something hosting that,"Space.") before you place matter there.. Umm... even if one "understood" how reality works, that doesn't mean you'd be able to manipulate it. This is too far fetched for me.
An EMP goes through the air, it's electricity and magnetic forces, not just electricity. It doesn't need a conductor. It's a pulse, kinda like a vibration, not a current. If it were a current, it would affect people. With all the electronics and shit implanted in your body (the hoses, the technology to download into your brain, etc..) there may just be a way to set off a pulse in your mind.
I don't think the machines have the resources or the power to create two or more Matrix's. If they did, they would have had more than one operational at a time to test societies. They tried more in the past, they didn't work. Why not try several different versions at once in order to find the best one? I don't believe they would ever introduce a second matrix.
I agree with the question of why they can't see him. Except, they do read the matrix externally. Maybe they never needed to make it so that they could read it internally from the eyes of someone else. That's nothing relevant to the series though, just something that was overlooked. The monitor is just there for theatrics. These are the same as I was asking earlier about the two ghosts and why they can't make them better, just something that they left in there for effect I guess.

"The Wachowski brothers (hopefully) would not beat a dead horse."
They're already beating a dead horse. The only reason why they're turning the Matrix into a trilogy is because it's a cash cow. The Matrix is a prime example of Hollywood consumerism running rampant. The first Matrix was like a good song you hear on the radio. It's nice for the first or second time you hear it, but then the radio stations keep playing it and playing it and playing it, and before you know it, you hate it. That's the way the matrix is. Too much hype, too Hollywood, too commercial. Do yourself a favor and go see an independent film this summer. You might like it, and your money won't go to line the pockets of fat cats in hollywood. I'll be damned if I put another dollar in their fat, bloated hands.
