Out of the four Phantasy Stars that came out Pre PSO, 3 had the best musical score out of all of them. Three is the only one I haven't had time to finish so I can't judge againsed it but 4 was very sweet. In two I dunno wtf they were doing but the music sucked ass and so did the game partially. But 4 was a nice revival that had a little of each one thrown in with a good music score and good graphix.

Phantasy Star had a MUCH better storyline than FF and I really miss the way the game was designed.

To me, it was the first true rpg for any of the console games

I agree. PS was a pioneer in the RPG world. But for complexity, FF is the shit. PS wasn't that complicated, much like a futuristic relative of Mud without the PVP. FF offers tho a more free-forming RPG. Some people play RPGs because the game can change depending on the decisions & choices you make, unlike most other games.

you know phantasy star's storyline was great, if you could ever get passed the multi-layered views on dungeon crawls, wandering around looking and praying for an exit or a chest wasn't my ideal way to spend time
