Yea I liked DOS because when you actually deleted shit, it WAS deleted. Not hidden in your trashbin, or it didnt turn out to be just a shortcut you deleted.
It's not actually deleted. There is a simple command called 'undelete' that recovered files. I used to undelete hundreds of pictures on my old 286 that my dad would download, copy to disk, and erase.

True, you can always undelete something, but I think his point was that with Windows you never really know for sure if it's gone, cuz of the Recycle Bin, plus when you "uninstall" something it leaves crap behind. Damnit, when I say uninstall, frickin uninstall the damn thing!

Also back in the day with DOS my dad and I made this badass ANSI/Batch File menu system. Everytime you started up the computer it would come to a big blue screen with different options, F1-F12 or whatever to bring up submenus for different games or programs.
My dad had something like that on his old dos machine...It was pretty nice, easily navigatable and I still preferred the dos prompt hehe

I have 2k as my main OS and win98se on the second hdd for the old games and shit that doesnt like win2k
My sisters comp upstairs (one im on right now) is xp and i dont like it really.
Im used to doing stuff like messing with drivers and I enjoy troubleshooting stuff. XP takes the fun away from that :(
The biggest problem Ive had with XP is IE, it crashes for no stupid reason and I so dont trust the firewall XP has
