tru dat. i do buy alot of games and programs, but for the most part, i am cheap and get the 9.99 shit at wal mart. lol. i will admit i have a version of every windows version there is and i have only paid for 1. and that is more than enough. shit like photoshop, and premier, thats just ridiculous to charge that much for a program.

yeah u know why hackers started out? it's because they thought it was bullshit to charge money for a bunch of 1's and 0's.
i disagree in teh fact that it does take money to make a quality product, however, they're going for bigtime gain. Do we really want any more Bill Gates' in this world? 60 billion dollars from people buying winBLOWS 3.1 and 95 and 98? i mean c'mon that's bullshit...
sure it was popular, but he shouldn't be that rich because he shouldn't have charged an arm and a leg for it

are you saying that stealing software is ok based on it exceeding a certain price? :D
I think a lot of software is overpriced, but look at megamud...warez basically killed it's development and now we're all stuck with a half finished product.
Bill Gates has a lot of employees, like him or not, he's helped our economy. Granted, he's filthy rich, but is that really reason to dislike him? If anything, dislike him because he's a thief.

I'll toss in my 3 an 1/16 cents on this issue.
You mention megamud Reckless... Would you pay 45 bucks for windows if it only worked half the time, messed up constantly and crashed alot... oh wait, thats already windows. So let me make another comparison. Would you buy a car that half the time didnt run properly, was extremely fuel inneffecent, broke down alot and cost too much for the few features it did offer? Im sure youd be laughing at the people who did. To me Megamud could be ALOT better for the price he puts on it. Maybe if it was only like 25 bucks, 30 at most more people would consider buying it, but 45 bucks for something thats so crappy is just wrong. Kinda like Microsofts over charging.
As for Pirating in General... I dont think any of us can say that we've never pirated anything. Hell i know i have. For me, If the cost of the product is beyond what i can afford, i find alternitave means to aquire the product. Thats not to say i wont buy it later if i see it on the 9.99 - 20.00 shelf at my local computer store, but if its more expensive than my present income allows i dont buy it...
Its a sad day when the government Arrests someone who is making a chip that LEGALY can be used. Your allowed to make backups of your own games and dvd movies under Fair Use. You just happen to need that mod chip to play them (Yes i know its got OTHER uses but im arguing Principal).

i think megamud was a great idea, but ya gotta get serious. you can't charge that much money for somethin like that. i mean it's just not right, y'know?
IMO it should have been freeware. MAJORMUD should be freeware. I mean look at this, we're doing support for nothing, and a lot of us are developing for nothing, it's like why charge for something like that? why not get a real job and stop paying for stuff that is fun some of the time. but big time graphical games that's different. those take a LONG time to make and perfect and yadda yadda, so those SHOULD cost money. but whoever started megamud should have made it freeware, that would've been the 'right' thing to do....

nod, 20 bucks at the most. you cant compare megmud to warcraft 3 in the slightest as far as overall product quality and development time, yet they cost almost the same.

You've apparently never bought a car since you're making that comparison. Every car I've owned has had some form of problem. It didn't make me want to go steal one though.
You guys are mistaking the issue I put forth. Is it ok to steal if the cost is high in your opinion.
Megamud is so bad, it's crap, it sucks. What does the majority of people around here use? Megamud. The irony thickens!

No it sure never made me wanna steal one eather, but it made me look for something better for the money id have to plonk down. Which generates Cometition, which drives down prices as everyone trys to underbid the other guy. Yes cars have small problems, but i've never had a car that has as many problems from the start that mega mud has from the start.
Id use something else, but Zmud gives me headaches tryin to do paths for it, and No ones made anything better...
And Yes in my opnion its ok to steal if the price is too high... If a loaf of bread cost 45 bucks, im sure you'd steal it. If i realy like something then i will buy it later, but if i dont, then Enf.... No biggie.
