elder havenwood? is that the area past the cave? i don't seem to have a quest flag that allows access to that.

definitely hit up doormud.com , has all the area info you'll ever need :)

are you suggesting that even though most of us have never played DoorMud specifically, we should be playing it in hardmode?

Yes, definitely. Since DoorMUD is a door game, the normal version is intended for most door players, who mostly only have played non-MUDs (LORD, Usurper, etc)... so the basic game is somewhat easy and has more level restrictions on areas.

Meanwhile, DoorMUD Pro is focused at WorldGroup boards where the players have more experience w/ MUDs. In Pro's Hard Mode, there's a few less area level restrictions, and the game is more difficult in a number of ways (monsters have 25% more HPs, hit for 20% more damage, and respawn a bit more frequently; resting takes a little longer; and gold is slightly more scarce).

wow that sounds....harder. I kind of want to get through the game once before i have to start again in hard mode though. Maybe try out some other classes, cause morbid's dmud is pretty much the first time ive played the game, too...

Well, one point of Hard Mode is to make group-play more useful. From what I've heard on here, you guys on morbid don't like to ever go around in parties... its because you can easily get away with that in Normal mode, but not as easily in Hard Mode. In Hard Mode, you won't see guys going solo in higher-level areas to get utterly insane exp... instead you gotta take a friend if you want to survive :)

Some players may be unhappy w/ trying to play in parties (especially since exp is split, but all players still lose an MF). But keep in mind that the exp per monster increases drastically as you enter higher-level areas, so you still end up getting a lot more exp that you would in an area for your own level.

I bet most of you regularly fight in areas that are designed for characters that are 3 to 5+ levels higher than you... most of the captures on here seem to confirm this... its because you're playing normal mode and not hard mode :P
