I think the problem with MajorMUD is just the simple fact that there is no end. you play and play and play and eventually kill everything there is to kill, get everything you want to get, and then what -- reroll and start over, or just keep scripting. I've tried to think of ways in which someone could build up to a certain point and then get some reward that would carry over to their next character. I can play mud for a few months and get everyhing there is to get, but then i need to take a break for a month or so. like I actually haven't played mud since I started on the NMR project. I've been getting thr urge to play again tho.

I don't think many of you know how to really play the game. There's no way that some of the questions answered in Mud Central's forum would get answered here.
When I joke about 4 billion exp rats it's because that's where most edited realms end up.
So the game has nowhere to go, except you guys, and you end up making 4 billion exp rats. Mr. Black's idea to create an entire new realm from scratch is the only way to go, but it'll end up with 4 billion exp rats.
Wrong? These statements prove you don't know what you think you did..
I'll admit, I'm not the 100% best mud player there is. I know for fact that some people at mudcentral are more apt to knowing answers about various questions concerning the game than what I could do. I also know that I know most of the answers I see to questions asked on MudCentral before I even get to read what people answer with.
I know you're using 4 billion exp rats as a sarcasm to over-exp'd realms. Yes, you are right to an EXTENT. You think everything ends up that way. It doesn't...some do, yeah..but there are a good amount of 1-3x exp bbs's (non-"legit" on 1x's) that exist, some 1 char limit, some not.
You think that 2x+ is too much because it's possibly to make 2 mil exp. News flash - Not everyone here has no life and is able to sit around and mud for months on end to become big chars like everyone over at MudCentral.
If you think they're better than us, then, in light of this FACT, I'd rather be looked down upon by you and everyone at MudCentral than even TRY to earn respect that I have already earned from my fellow peers here at MMB.

MMBers are better at the Game than Mudcentralers anyways.
IMO end of story.

MMB'ers are better at making updates to the game than Metro is. MMB'ers just rock. We should take it over.
Re: Nightmare and v1.11J [Archive] - ForumsHQ

Okay, warning, this is gonna be a long one... I got a lot to say about mudcentral and not much of it good.
There's a handful of good players in each place. But when it comes right down to it, you post something on mudcentral and you'll get half a dozen answers from morons like Hellspawn and Mufasa that scripted to level 65 and think they know something because of that.
Then there's Metro lackies like Frost and Cyan. These people just make me SICK TO MY STOMACH. Frost actually posted saying a naked missionary, naked ninja, and naked bard killed the Majestic Dragon. I'm gonna say this as simply as I possibly can... BULLSHIT. I had 104 ac on my testing character and the CMD rarely missed against me, and the majestic has better accuracy. The majestic would not have missed them at all. He'd have torn them to shreds even if they were all fully armored. To say they did it naked is just a bald faced lie, and by saying it you're going to get people with parties that stand NO chance going in there and getting totally destroyed. And then their gear will probably poof. And why? Because Frost doesn't wanna look like an idiot for saying prior to release that it wouldn't require that much firepower... So when he's wrong, he makes something up to protect his image rather than admit "hey, I was wrong, if you don't have a ton of 65s, save your gear and don't try it yet."
Most mudcentralers are no more than megababies that have no idea what they're doing. Time and again, I watched parties of these so-called great players go in with 6 or more 60+s and get totally destroyed by nearly every boss in mod 9. I came back to legit boards after around a year abscence and within 2 months I had my 2 new characters and my friend's 2 old characters tearing through every boss and making it look easy. Upon caps posted at mudcentral, rather than admit we're JUST THAT DAMN GOOD, the majority of them scrambled to find some sorry excuse for why our kills were invalid. "You abused the ten spell bug!" was the most common one. First of all, that's not a bug. It was a concious decision Lance made to make 10 spell slots. Second, we weren't just blessing up for that. The fact of the matter is, I SCRIPT with 7-8 effects going. To think I wouldn't cast a few more blesses before going against major bosses is flat out retarded. Third, in the main cap they cried about that for, ONE person was ten spelled. Then we had somebody notice we were retrained. Well, that would actually be a valid point, except the reason we did that was because half the game's lims had poofed after people died and the board crashed, in the past few months alone. Excuse me for not being willing to risk all my equipment, when MUD is stable I'll be more than happy to risk death. This was my favorite, though... My friend posted a cap of us killing Lord Feyr after we had lured the bone warriors away and some fool flamed him for posting a cap without the bone warriors. Apparently you're only allowed to fight monsters when they have all their friends with them. So remember, when you were all new and got rid of the forest spiders before fighting the giant spider, you were cheating. Frankly, mudcentral has some of the worst and most absolutely pathetic mudders on this planet.
Ozrinom was the funniest one... several people have accused us of lying about killing him because we won't post the cap because it'd give away our trick and we don't want Metro to screw with it (no, it's not a bug, it's an oversight.. just like 100% dodge is). They were all invited to come to the board on free time and see if my paladin was really wearing a scarlet doublet. None of them had the nuts to show up. That includes Frost. So what can I gather from this? That in a matter of a couple months, a handful of people have done every mod 9 boss with most of them being midlevels... something that these so-called great mudders at mudcentral often failed to do with over full parties (or more) of 60+s. So while I admit to being a narcissistic bastard, I think there's more to it than that... I think the fact is that almost every mudder at mudcentral ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.
Mudcentral? Better? Gimmie a break, Tsunami. You'll get answers to questions over there alright, but don't expect them to be right. Here's a good example... our board started having some weird problems.... Our mudop posted to the sysop forum, I posted to MMB. Wanna know what he got for answers? "Maybe there's someone ugly playing there. j/k" "Try running a recovery." Psst... mud automatically runs a recovery after every crash. What did I get here? Granted, I didn't get an answer to the problems but I got a lot better insight than the mudop did from the sysop forum.
What about the recent bone necklace thread? Nobody at mudcentral knew. Hell, they didn't even know there was a byte that determines if an item poofs that AFAIK no current viewing program displays. Somebody even said he didn't see any "poofs when uses are up" flag. WTF? I suppose there's one of those on potions? What advice did the guy get... You bet... "try it and see." About a 1% drop from an unscriptable boss with a 7 hour regen.
I've said it before, I'll say it again... Mudcentral sucks.
