That's all I got out of it. Something about room descriptions, and an open source mud. *Shrug* - Maybe repeat in a better state of mind? =)

hahaha, that was a funny movie syntax.

So, you could actually do this syntax? If so, I'll contribute some edits.

Ok I think, I will now make some sense out of my other post bare with me. I haven’t slept yet but what the heck. I’m not seeing double yet.

Instead of leaving the items in database form make some sort of container file to hold the items information. Basically the container file would be a file containing an item that has had its’ wcc dat numbers removed and replaced with a standard set of variables. The container file would also contain all of the supporting parts for its item.

Each of these container files could then be tagged when they are created with information that states: who made it, an item category like spell… Sort of like when you download warez the file normally comes with an .nfo file or a text file with information about the file.

How the “container file” could work.

When you export to a container file it copies the item into itself while changing the identifying databases numbers to its own system

So your spell (#100) would become the container file’s spell (X). While doing this, the exporter checks for all the calls that your spell (#100) makes. If your spell (#100) references a message (#200) in your database it would then copy message (#200) from your database into its container file while changing the original database number to its own. It would continue this logical process until it finished all the calls that the item makes.

What you then end up with is an item that is packaged in such a way that it contains all its supporting parts and component links and is 100% free of any one person’s dat numbers.

Importing the container file:

When you import a container file it copies the information from the container file into a temporary location. The Importer Then reassigns the correct database numbers for your wcc dat files and imports the item and its supporting parts into your wcc dat files.

What I was saying about descriptions was there should be a description database. very simple... very usefull...

Type of item – Name - description

Type of room – Name - description

Understand now?

Ok now I’m really starting to get tired so I’m going to skip translating the rest of my complex thought patterns into information that you might possibly be able understand. :P
