A) the Game is intended to not have sys goto, thats why it is a SYSOP power. But on the other hand it is a very convienent thing to have. But the vortex serve the same purpose. I have always been fond of the vortex/portals theme. I'm sure we can all agree is it a pain in the ass to walk to the lost city for some fresh gear. Hell it's even become a pain in the ass to hike to rhudaur. But it's the point of the game. The safest bet to make everyone happy is the portals, it appeases those who hate people who sys out in pvp and it also appeases us old schoolers. I've played mud off and on for 6 years and eddited for a couple. The satisfaction of the hike is like stated previouslly, like a mini-quest. Not just for training but to go anywhere and back requires one to be at keys. People who script 24/7 and are on maybe a half hour a day are aimlessy taking advantage of the gaming system. I don't mean to step on any toes here but we all know how crappy it is to see all the topten afk, never atk, and using every available lim. Which happens
more then we would like. Which brings me to the next subject
B)Limited items, Hell ya keep limiteds. and changing the amount of limiteds is a good idea but only for the right items. You know, the ones everyone could use but are easily overlooked because thier low levels, BHHC, Katana, JAL, Hell even BloodLance, Holy Avenger and Blades of Balance. Theres a SLEW of level 45+ weapons now, why worry about them? I've played on boards with 70 people, imagine being stuck with the straight up silvermere gear?knowing every single limited is taken.
C)Universal trainers? Bah screw em', Make 1 65+ trainer and bang your done.
D) Next, dupes??? Who needs them? boards with dupes are like playing a different mud. It's a whole new style. Dupes or No Dupes the game is still fun, but you play differently, forming groups of good scripters or boss killers, or pvpers, or all three. So thats up to the sysop and no one else.
In closing these are some ideas and quirks I've noticed in my travels, I don't really care what anyone thinks, I know a lot of people I could speak for, and I know alot that disagree. Like I said Mainly opinions. But every board is maid custom to the sysop. Depending on the type of realm (they) want. All the descions have an adverse effect on the amount of players and quality as well.

nods, good points. we gotta make sure not to make the game too easy. I think that there should be more of some limited items, but i don't think that every ninja should have an ebony ninjato, for example. i think that maybe 1 should get it, but that there be a decent amount of weapons that are just as easily gettable that are almost as good.
and dupes are up to the sysop. it's hard to play without a dupe, especially if you have a gang who is NEVER at keys! *cough* i-=Golden Lords=-. like, for example, it's nearly impossible to be a priest and script by yourself and make decent experience. it just... sux. so if you plan to have MANY users, only then would dupes not be a good idea. other than that, i think they're needed....
i like the idea of edits, because they're not controlled by megamud. you have to make your own scripts, so to speak, and setup your own monsters, etc. etc. etc. Yeah it makes a person use megamud better, that's prolly just about it, but at least it gets a person from just relying on something they've been given and not try new things. it is the way of the h4x0r, intuition yields innovation.
