You should feel honored that your ideas are worth being copied :D or whatever. Originality is a little far fetched when most of these ideas are taken from other games. Vampire, tenchu, tenshu, etc. So you could argue that you stole the ideas ;) Take it as a compliment though, just hope everyone can be a little creative and not totally duplicate it.

For one, a tenchu WOULD BE CONSIDERED A CLASS. It is a type of ninja, a stealth assassin. If you knew anything about the word "tenchu", you would know that.
ImO
Copying? Whoa now..
I can understand if people are taking all the names for all of your items and making the same thing on their bbs with different stats..
I can understand if people are taking all the same quest tweaks and new quests and making the same thing on their bbs with different results..
But Classes/Races.. no one has any right to accuse anyone of stealing a class or race. You didn't make up Vampires in your head, the idea of a Vampire already existed. None of you have made up ANY of the races/classes you have on your BBS's, the idea already existed, whether a well known one or not. The class of a Vampire has probably been one of the longest discussed ones there is, as well as a Wardancer, a Samurai, and so on. Some of these have been ideas for the game from legit players to hexed players all over...to say that something is YOURS and people must ask YOU to use the word "Vampire" is ignorant...
The fact that you are stealing something that doesn't belong to you gives you NO ground on accusing people of stealing ideas from you.
Just my opinion on this..and I didn't read any of Dxpac's posts, they're far too long for me to even consider reading..lol.

Ok...well, here are the Races/Classes I have so far..uhh, written on paper.
What I need help with is...the abilities..and health, armour, weapons..that kinda stuff...I have my own exp standard...so much exp for so many hps/level, so much exp for each combat above 1, same with magic..and it works out well...(that way everything is balanced) I just need help with what should get what.
Classes:
Sorcerer
Nekoken
ShapeShifter
Vampire
Archer
Psychic
Tenchu
Savage
Races:
Demon
Undead
Angel
Dragon
Leprechaun
Cyclops
Minotaur
Golem
Godly(has high exp chart already : 500% right now)
Centaur
Godly isn't really Godly...it is, but its not going to be SUPER strong. Its just going to be the 1 race that I have..that is really well rounded and built, but also will go along with my exp standard....plus about 100-200% extra...so its not really worth it to have...plus it would take forever to level.(It would have 300+% just by itself, w/o the penalty)
I have decided to pace myself..work on 1 area a week..I need the races/classes to be done by sunday..that includes everything...text help blocks..putting them in...writting background for them and all..training rooms...all that.
If ya dont wanna post...E-mail me at
Hindra@aol.com
or leave a message on AIM : Hindra
Thanks.
Why yes..as in my original post...Tenchu is a class.

But in this case, I wasn't the editor. My old cosysop Atma made those spells. They were very overpowered too. After he quit, and in my balancing process that I'm in now, I have reduced them to be balanced spells. You made a good point there though. :)
Umm, no. They were fine. No offense to you, but you judge them in comparison to your poorly equipped, and possibly poor race/stat'd characters. My warlord, a class with a 50% exp chart, insane hp, all armor, ect. was averaging several K a round BEFORE the introduction of +30 crits phoenix feathers, scorpion lord tails, or a bunch of other garbage that seriously upped melee damage. And you're gonna tell me that a mage 15 levels higher than he was outdamaging him by a few hundred is overpowering? I don't think so.
You went on a gigantic nerf-spree and when I left, a level 70-something priest-3 class was healing for about 200 while normal monsters were dishing out rounds of 1K. There is absolutely no reason to be anything except a warlord, knight, samurai, ranger, or warlock now. They get almost all the effect spells of the pure casters, PLUS better armor, tons more hp, less downtime, AND more damage.
As for the 3rd quest reward spells, I haven't heard ANYONE, including you, bitch about them until now. If anything, they were underpowered. The unlimited use spells weren't very good post-70 because a properly equipped character could outdamage them by so much that their effects didn't mean squat compared to the damage change. The once-a-day spells were so rarely used that I found a bug in one a month after they were put in and no one had noticed it because they never used them. The priest one was the only worthwhile. Glad to know they have something left with their healing being shit and all now....
Also, take a look at things when I started. Take a look at the lvl 80 questers, then take a look at the difficulty of the monsters before I started. The only one that you couldn't round was the shadowbeast, and he was easily neutralized with either stun or decent MR. I made the normal editted monsters worth their exp, and I added bosses that made people say "there's only 3 of us, do we have enough?" Sure, I put decent rewards on them, but considering the stuff you could get without a real fight before, they weren't godly overpowered. I did make one overpowering mistake, and that's the diamond chests. I didn't think about people farming them 24/7 and everyone running around with emerald daggers and manablades to spare. I sure as HELL didn't intend for "artemis' bow for free sitting in bow shop if anyone wants it" 3 days after a reset.
So PLEASE... no offense to you, you put a lot more effort into your board than anyone else I know... but don't come here and tell everyone I just slapped in a bunch of overpowered bullshit and you had to wait until I quit to balance things out. I want to have a bad rep for my attitude problem and total lack of respect for anyone I haven't known a long time, not for being an incompetent editor that fucks everything up. That's why I got banned from Mudcentral's forums (well, that and relentlessly harassing several Metro employees for months on end) and I'd like to think that's why I'd get in trouble around here.

I compare everything. I haven't finished balancing everything out. I've done spells, I'm on armour, I'm gonna do weapons next. It could be the death of Sinister Urge, but as of this moment, this is how I should have done things to begin with. I started too quick, without having a testing time before bringing the board up. Now I have the time to go back and fix everything, and most things are so small nobody even notices. You've done an excellent job with your edits, I'm not putting you down at all. I can't recall you adding any bosses though. I tried to fix the chest issue when I reset and put them on a little bit harder bosses, so stupid shit like the mad wizard wouldn't drop it anymore. I dunno, I'm doing things my way, on my own. Board usage has hit a new peak in the past week or so. It's not much, but its a new peak. I must be doing something right.
