How about a set of skills, if there's a way to check sneaking when attempting to cast a spell, that is. Something along the lines of less damage then your backstab but additional damage over time, or 1/2 damage and stun for 1 round, etc. etc....

You could even throw in mid-round skills, just to give them that li'l bit of extra damage/abilities that they need. (You circle around small thug and punch him in the kidneys, causing 14 damage. You trip dark cultists, sending him to the ground!)

Of course, this is probably a whole new can of worms you'd rather not deal with, just what came to mind while I was reading. (Hmm, my rogue in WoW couldn't have anything to do with that, could it?)

Theory along the lines of blacknight. Interesting. It's possible and not too horribly hard.. would be interesting to see if anyone would bother playing them though. Maybe if you added in a 1% chance for a 5% chance of slay or something. Or just a 1% chance.

Thieves seem to be doing well. I also started testing Mystics. I'm trying to get them through their 15th quests right now, so after that, and I find a good place to loop them, I'll repost with more info and try to get some feedback. I really know nothing about either class so any input would be of help.

Well I've always enjoyed playing thieves, but I've never liked the "they can bs, and that's about it" approach. Obviously, you want to keep a low chart (esp. if steal isn't working), so you can't overpower them, but as it sits now a legit thief, when fully decked and maxxed, still isn't much fun.

Obviously I never got around to posting the update, but I came up with some item ideas to help thieves out a little bit, since they're silk, and at level 20 there weren't any decent shields for them. I'm also toying with the idea of making it possible for them to be able to pick "unpickable" doors, to give them one advantage over another class. Shrug, we'll see when I'm done I guess.

That sounds like something fun, but it won't address any of the combat issues they face. I really can't expand much, because I didn't make an account on your board, so don't know what changes were/have been made. Not really on the scene atm, either, so I'll just wish you luck and maybe down the road will see what ya came up with.

Their combat isn't really all that bad from what I've seen. Crittin alot, that's for sure. I'm only gonna play em up to 30th level then "retire" and play another class up to 30, etc, etc. I think he's actually gonna be able to train to 30 today, haven't checked on it since last night. Maybe I'll post something once I get him trained and equipped and play around with it for a little bit.

I try not to start new threads for every little thing concerning Sinister Urge/Project: Sinister.

I know there are some ops that like to do that but I'm not gonna say any names. :sealed:

I should have an update tonight, the thief and mystic both hit 30.
