So I'm kinda at a loss as to what I should do for stats on races. I'm kinda thinking about taking away the base 100 cps and then raising each races key stats. I think it would make character creation a little bit different. I dunno. So what do other people think..whats a good way to handle races/cps. Another thing I was thinking of doing was maybe just leaving stats how they are and allowing different uses for CPS. This would basically work out something like this. Each class would have a seperate trainer in various spots hidden across the realm. These trainers would then have several requirements each time you wanted to train your character...ie use CPS. Lets say your a halfing missionary. You just hit level 65 and have 250 CPS left over. After talking with various NPCs you find out that a powerful missionary has been investigating the Ancient Ruins in the desert and you deside to visit with him. You get there and he's like, Yo dawg this place sucks...but I really need this marble orb. Tell you what, get that orb and I'll teach ya something I've learned in my travels. So you head out find the orb and return. He'll be like wow thanks..thats uber..and you'll be like yeah, but where's my training..He'll be like yeah um so what do you want to know? He'll give you some options. Now all the options will have the same "worth" in cps but I guess what I'll have to do is use Both Race and LeveL CHKs and assume that people max stats. Then the player will get a blank ability plus learn whatever skillz they pick. Then like he may ask for more quests along the way, new abilities could open up as you complete more quests. That way you can stack abilities learn lots of different ones. Maybe even trade CPS for unique spells. I kinda like that. either way..anyone one have anything constructive to add..or maybe even just a nasty flame..either way.

Learning new skills or trading left over cps for unique spells sounds good.I really like taking away the 100 start cps, no train no cps.Bump starting stats some but not much. And I change my vote put the cave bear at a picnic table in the park;)

I appreciate all the input I get from you Hades, but it vaguely seems that by the time I get this shit ready you're gonna be the only one playing :hehe:

I'll always be playing, but most of the time it's with myself. Especially when you talk about orbs and stuff. Orbs are big and rotund, yeah...Sounds pretty crazy DeathCow, I assume many people are anticipating the release. I'm just anticipating the day you finally PM me something other than how much you want a JPG file of my sexy self. I'm more than just a piece of meat, I'm a person... Anyways, get at me on the flip side.
P.S. The cave bear is not allowed to be moved from his spot. This is to be understood. If he moves from his spot, it must be in a climate suited to his tastes such as the pyramid. It's newhaven or the desert, don't be a bitch about this..I'm serious.

What about a castle in an arid coastal region? And duh I wanted a BMP its a higher quality image. The orb was just an orb..nothing too complicated..the idea was that the quest would be an item return and not some long drawn out flag this flag that kinda quest.

I realize my opinion means pretty much nil as I have not been playing all that long, and have never made a post before; however I am eagerly awaiting the open of your board. It sounds like you have done some amazng stuff that will will make play a challenge for those of us who are new to play, and those who are old hands as well. It is kind of a drag playing a game when someone else has already figured everything out. Sure there is the option to go through and figure it all out by myself, but it is soooo easy not to. It will be great to have to. Anyhow, just my thoughts.

Ok so, I've been playing on random editted bbses for the past couple month..you know for ideas/concepts. On one of the bbses I play a theif and decided to do some searching for a particular item in ganghouses. I noticed that basically everyone had decided houses were useless and didnt store anything in them. I've also noticed that people tend to just buy the deeds then quit playing...:0 So I've decided I need to add some more ganghouse type places to the realm. I just haven't figured out the best way to do this yet.
Ok so my questions now are
1: how should standard gang houses be updated.
2: Can I put a message in for the gang house rooms to make them less annoying. IE: replace the txtfile desc
3: How would one handle adding new ganghouses.
I had planned to add them on to map 15 starting at room 3000. Thats more than 50 rooms past the last room on the map, So they should be skipped during cleanup. I'm assuming I can use ability 182 to add a tax value onto the deed. The deeds will be made loyal, not getable, not dropable, destroy on death Del@maint. Now they keys, I suppose, will need to be made with a small number of uses..or something along those lines. The keyrings can simply be loyal. I guess them emblems could be made like Lim 500 so they cant be stocked and loyal, and del@main. Then just set up the inside of the houses similar to how other ganghouses are. I know I probably can't make shops for the ganghouses, but if i set everything up like I have outlined above, is there is flaw in that I'm not seeing? TY!
