In all honesty, if I know I'm 100% in the right. I would not say a damn word to anyone. I would sue Metro for revoking my right to updates, sue them for lost payment from the BBS while it was down, they would be paying me a world of money. The lawsuit would speak for itself.



All Seeker has to do is have his lawyer go through discovery with Metro to find out exactly what they have on him. If his lawyer had done this, there would be no questions in his mind about what proof they have and he wouldn't be demanding it in forums.



Yeah, I went through hell with Metro. And I'm not taking anyones side on anything. If Seeker is in the right, by all means, take Metro's asses down. But from what I've personally (not only in forums but elsewhere) seen and read/heard/discussed with people, he's not innocent. Could I be mistaken? Could I have been lied to? Absolutely. But I highly doubt it.

Good god. Every flippin time I go away for a weekend, stuff like this happens. I will have to address all the finer points.

I have a pet peeve with people attempting to make themselves look like something they are not. You aren't some hero, you aren't some bad ass, you are just some sysop who Metro believes distributed K. I am willing to bet that there is absolutely no corrolation between the two incidents.

You didn't EXACTLY say you were going to distribute K, but it can be assumed that is what you mean. I don't know where K came from, I'm not worried about where K came from. The *ONLY* thing that I want you to realize, is that this is *NOT* a personal attack against you. They are pissed their software got distributed. That's IT.

Oh, so now you have tapes. You shoulda said that sooner. You should play them into a microphone, and tape them into a wav file and send them to us. Yes, we'd like to hear them. Oh, and tapes aren't admissible in court. Been there, done that. You have to notify the person that you are taping them. That's why at walmart and etc.. it says something about surveillance. If it didn't, those tapes from people stealing stuff would be irrelivant. Your lawyer can't do anything with the tapes except for listen to them for their own argument. She can REFER to the tapes, but that doesn't hold up well, so she probably wont.

If they want solid proof about people distrib'ing stuff, they need stronger anti-piracy code. Seriously now, is that so difficult for them to do? They could easily make it so that the K executable was self-modifying so that when a sysop downloads an upgrade, the executable has an encrypted stamp of the sysop's reg info, spread out between random unused bytes in the binary so that it would take forever for crackers to solve. Then Metro could EASILY tell where a leak is, with proof instead of heresay.



But no, instead of taking a few hours to code better security measures, they prefer the avenue of revoking licenses based on heresay. That makes absolutely no sense to me.



Of course, a much more logical approach (IMHO) would be to drastically reduce the cost of their product, and/or sell an editor... they'd sell a lot more copies that way, and wouldn't need as many paid employees working on the game, since they wouldn't be wasting so many hours looking into edited games...

*nod*, that's what I'm saying. I wasn't saying he did or didn't. I'm not saying metro is right or wrong. All I'm saying is that running around saying metro is after him because he pissed Shannon off is totally untrue. They are after him for supposedly distributing K and supposedly editing his board. That's it. He obviously does not have an edited board. He may or may not have distributed K, nobody but him knows. He says he didn't, and that's good enough for me.

I really would like this thread to stop also plat, but i feel I must defend myself once again.

My lawyer specifically told me to tape any and all conversations. Why would she tell me if we wouldnt be able to use anything. I'm not saying it can or cant be used, but why would she tell me to do it if it holds no warrent what-so-ever?

As I said before, a friend of mine got temporary custody because he taped his x telling him he would never see his children again because of X and X and this and that. The judge listened to those tapes and based on those tapes granted him temp. custody. Liberty Mo.

I will not divulge any more info/personal emails/phone messages on the matter of metro disliking me. It seems to do nothing but provoke Reckless and Speed into bashing my intel about what and why this is or isnt an issue. My emails will show the court that they have a hard on for me, again lawyers advice to use said info.
