after looking at the dats I wouldnt compare this to dd's board, this board actually would be much easier to level on.

I think what they mean is that there isnt much balance in the edits and alot of edits look broken or useless, like giving something +0 Dodge, or +0 rcol, why give it +0 at all?
Thats just mess and waste of space, and looks very noobish.

Well if there is something that says + or - zero it is an error...i wouldnt do that. I am new to editing though but i also didnt make all the items/chars etc. that are listed in the dats. The bbs is currently going through a revamping stage where people are testing things and we are slowly revamping the things that arent right. It just takes time as Rome wasnt built in a day. It all needs to be tweaked to get the bugs out so that we can make it more rounded and that is our main goal. The experience will be going down soon to 6x and 8x as right now it is at 8x and 10x...that is way too much.
As i stated before in a previous post that i DON'T want my bbs to be one where you can level to 50 in a few hrs. There is absolutely no fun in that at all. So if people just come in, gain a few levels and decide things are screwed up..then they arent giving the bbs a fair shot. I am trying..and as Zan said "please be patient". And thats all im asking as well.

Ok, well in an attempt at constructive criticism: To many useless items. What's the point of adding X amount of weapons, when everyone is going to use one of the top 3, regardless?
Your new areas off silvermerre. Once I hit lvl 10, and the junkyard, I was then able to go and make 16k exp/mob at that level. And I'm not talking with any difficulty....I actually pulled 15 mobs into the same room, and cleared it w/out taking any damage. At level 10. For a total of 250,000 exp. At level 10. I was autoroaming for about 3mil/hour.
Oh, and what was it that made me think it was dd's board. First, it was the post about the number of mudops. Could all be just one char, right? Unbalanced Races/Classes. How many people play ANY of the old races? And if you do a top 100, do half the classes come up, or is everyone playing the same thing? Oh, and then there's Supermend - The only thing you're missing is the wet noodle.
I'm not saying it's a bad board, I'm just clarifying my earlier statements, is all. I wish you the best of luck and hope you continue to have fun with it :)

**This is intended to be friendly advice. Do not take it out of context**

I can totally understand. When I started building my board I was new to the editting thing as well. But if you bring your realm to the public's attention, you will hear about all the little things in your dats that are wrong. My advice, don't advertise the board until you're at a state that's ready. My board was online for 6 months with just myself and some other friends running around playing on it. Gave me a chance to learn how to edit, test things like accuracy on monsters and cleanup any bad dat stats like +0 dodge. When we opened to the public, it was mostly in line.

6x 8x is still way too much for most serious mudders tastes. You may want to consider dropping that down a bit more. One thing you can do is drop the exp multiplyer to say, 3x 5x or whatever, but have your new areas a little better exp-wise. Gives people more reason to check out the new spots. WIth a high exp modifier like you have, someone with decent skills can probably get to 50 in a couple days, so if you're trying to avoid that, consider dropping exp a little more.
So if people just come in, gain a few levels and decide things are screwed up..then they arent giving the bbs a fair shot. I am trying..and as Zan said "please be patient". And thats all im asking as well.

This comes back to opening to the public too soon, so you will get some backlash. Just work with it and try to shape the board how you want.
And then there are just some assholes who will never like anything you do, so be ready for that as well ;)

Thank you for your advice Mysterio...thing is i didnt advertise my bbs...it was supposed to be just friends and word of mouth. Then i found out someone else was advertising on their bbs. I didnt ask them to do that and i didnt know at first it was being done. By time i found out it was too late. Then the person who started this thread in the first place posted it here. I had NEVER intended to post my bbs here at all ever. So thats how the public found out about it. Only thing i can do at this point is make it application only and not approve any new users for now. However i am going to take your advice and lower it more. Alot of the new weapons and eq will be level restricted and hopefully we'll get that all evened out as well. Thanks again for your feedback.

For all you people out there that wanna knock Moonriver BBS, You need to understand that she is totaly new to all this stuff and instead of critising her and saying the bbs is lame this that and the other thing, well maybe you could put in a few positive ideas like mysterio did, she is always open for suggestions and input that will help her....as long as you give her a chance...and like Minx said she did not try to advertise the bbs at all and she didnt want alot of people knowing about it until she knew the bbs was good but people started letting other people know about it without her knowing and next thing ya know the bbs had alot of ppl coming over, and instead of taking the bbs dow nor going to a new site she kept it up and decided to try and tweak it that way...
So if you honestly dont like the bbs as i said above maybe you could give soe useful Positive feedback...
Thank you

Rome wasn't created in a day, good observation. But building an entire society that created ideas that are still in the works today is much more of an accomplishment than throwing some variables in a text game. I understand it was a metaphor, but a better metaphor would be...Taking the trash out means you have to open the door and give minimal effort. You're welcome.
