yea i totally agree about this bbs, been checking it out in boinks down time, and man its great, don't let the exp or anything else turn you away.. it really is a great bbs lots of helpful people, and some really sick eq ideas floating around... sysop seems so far to have a fair hand at editing and does a really good job keeping it balanced when it comes to custom items.. not to mention you can have dupes (up to 3 if you want) and so far tonight right now 44 people in mud and no lag at all. as for limited items being limited, who cares when you can have your own made? seriously if you are looking for what seems to be a really good bbs to play on. you should come check it out and give it some time.



and best of all i haven't seen any lag at all so far...

I have been playing this MUDD since 1995 or so and this BBS Guardian is by far the friendliest and best run game I have ever played. From the Sysop crafting custom items and handing out Hero's Quest's and Reward tokens for simplier Quests. The players are live a lot and very helpful and friendly. This board ROCK MY SOCKS!! I've known the sysop for a long time, and i even live next door ;) (he has a pretty good wireless connection that i get to tap into for free) anywho... i just wanted to come here and tell anyone whos lookin around for an awesome board to pop in... I got the chance to actually enjoy the game, i started my first ninja, (yes, its the one you see a couple posts ago) and got to customize all my gear around whatever theme i wanted. Along with that, its an actual challenge. i come over to his place for a smoke now and again and i see the maps and shit that he is cooking up. i cant wait.... I even got to see how he encorperated pvp into an allignment quest :yeah:



If your a person that is interested in just gettin a high level char in a day, dominating the board, then loggin off, this place isnt for you. This is a place to get addicted to mmud again (then again, if you werent addicted already, why would you be lookin here for another board to play on ROFL):rockon:

The edits sound great... But if you want to maintain the user base and growth you will need to add an exp multiplier... Especially if you want a lot of folks from MMB forums.



Think about it... That's the one reason I came and left is because I don't have the patience to wait a week between levels 30-31 e.t.c.

Heres a suggestion about exp: Scale it.



Normal mud, exp goes by fast at lower lvls, then higher it gets to be months to lvl. Maybe go to the scripting areas that higher lvls use and buff up the exp some?



This maintains a 'legit' exp type of realm, but will lower the waiting times at higher levels.



An example would be...



lvl 30-31 = a week, making 500k on avg (making up numbers here). Buff up the exp on the areas lvl 30s script to say, 2x exp would make it 1 mill avg. This cuts the wait down by half.

To make it a day, you could do.... x7 exp at that lvl to make it 3.5mill.



So, a general x## exp multipler just speeds everything up, but you can keep the lower lvls as they are, and just boost the higher lvl exp gain by doing this. Only thing you need to worry about is powerleveling...but i'll leave that up to you unless you need help with it..

i wont take any of the curent exp for monsters and multiply it... i think you have to earn your way up... if al your going to do is let megamud play the game for you, then its going to take you a little longer to level.... if you actually play the game, leveling is easy, you can quest at any level and get exp/cash/items for rewards.... im not going to design a game for megamud like Metro did...

I recieved a call from the Syaop today. The server went down at about 11am Pacific time. The reason for this is that the person who lives above him fell asleep with a cig in his hand. This resulted in a fire so Sysop lost everythign in his living rom due to fire or water im not sure which one but dont fret the server should be up tomorrow afternoon or early evening.





Dont fret the server is fine and your char's are safe
