It's not the fan. Most likely, it's a problem with the sensor. I have the same model & experienced the same issue.
I had to send it back twice - problem went away when they changed the motherboard I believe.
Is there anyway I can turn off the sensor. I don't have warrenty anymore. The fan is working i checked it. It won't stop beeping :( Also whenever I'm playing a game I check my cpu temp it gets higher.

Don't know about that...
Dump the Sony.. get another computer for gaming and use the sony as a backup/web browsing/word processing computer...
If you look at the technical specs, it tells you exactly what the temp ranges should be.. I don't remember what they are.

Can anyone help me my Sony Vaio doesn't stop beeping when I'm doing stuff on this computer. It happens when I'm playing games, encoding a video file and installing new versions of windows. Don't know what to do. Can anyone help me? Thank you
mine has recently done it, replaced the HSF twice.. still does it, now im playing hell with the retards trying to get them to fix it since its still under warranty.. oh well, last prebuilt computer pos i ever buy...
you can turn off the sensor in the bios, press f2 when you start up its under the hardware settings..

i had success last night with motherboard monitor (mbm 5) i turned off the alarm in it when the temperature rose above something high, all the led did was flash instead of the annoying beep..
