They will choose new targets if you have them charmed, and you engage in that target yourself. They will also used their defined attacks but only the person who has them charmed will see that, any other person will see it as the 'third-person' aka 'dark wizard just attacked such-and-such'..

They are also nice because they will distract mobs.. Ie: Your fighting the ice sorceress but can distract the ice golems with your summoned monsters. Also if a monster is chasing you and you can't seem to shake them, summon a monster and they will both cease chase to duel. Pretty fun class if fit within the right realm.. Maybe someday I'll finish my lil project..

Could you not make the summon spell also put an invisible bless spell on you which made it so you couldn't cast any other summon spells? Perhaps make it do magebind(or whatever ability it is that makes you unable to cast spells) and explain it because it requires full concentration to maintain control of the beast. Then you have it last a long time, like a kai form, but have the summon upon death cast a spell that remove the magebind so you can resummon. Now obviously if it dies in another room you're kind of screwed, but you could have a costly purge spell to remove it incase of this. Have it cost alot of mana so you couldn't abuse it get extra summons with mana potions.

The class, atleast how I'd imagine trying to make it work in the current coding would probably mean summoning would only be usefull for boss fighting and when you're at keys. I'm not sure how I'd go about balancing that out so they'd still be able to exp but not be horribly over the top and not exp shitty at the same time. Perhaps combat 2 with some semi decent buff spells and silk? Any ideas? I'm actually thinking about trying to make this a playable class in the new realm I'm constructing.
