It can not reintensify due to the conditions surrounding it. It's moving over colder water so the chances of it strengthening are slimmer than Plat winning the fantasy football league title ;)

I'm in Richmond so we prolly won't get much outta this, should weaken alot by the time it gets here, but ppl at work are running around like its gonna wipe out half the building. At least the thing has weakened quite a bit so far, but good luck down on the coast and hopefully it will continue to slow down.

Well, luckily it went down to a 2...but you're right, it could go back up. Are they telling you to evacuate? Out on the left coast we only get to hear a little bit about the hurricane instead of the 24-7 shit I'm sure the media is shoving down your throats. Keep us posted on the storm

We aren't evacuating. There's a mandatory evacuation for eastern north carolina (Mainly Outer Banks/Cape Hatteras and shit) and any other place that's right on the ocean in virginia (such as Sandbridge, which is... a bridge of sand, with houses on it). The oceanfront may or may not be mandatory evac'd, but I'm a good 10 miles away so I won't be touched by the 25-30 foot storm surges.

There is NEVER a time when a hurricane can't strengthen by the time it hits land. Never. It can strengthen at any time, depending on the conditions. At the current moment, no, it can't, but it'l be hitting a warmer water front and could be strengthening. We won't know until it hits us.
