depending on what you're doing

you might not need the dma server

like if you wanted to run mutliple instances of majormud, simply just copy the base files from wcc*.* to wXX*.* and edit wXX*.mdf/mcv

changing the name of the module to something fitting. easy way to run multiple muds

dont forget the dlls theres a tut in the how i did it section i believe and its case sensitive.

Anyone know how to use the copy command in dos to be case sensitive? that would make it hell easier/shorter process

nod shrug you only need DMA if you want to run more than one mud. But they have to be on different machines... the multi way is the best but its hardly that easy to set up... check out syntax's how to multi v2 post, mine is a little vague.

Panterra's was the original writeup i used. Worked like a charm. Tho if your a worldgroup novice make sure to backup any and ALL WG and WCC files before messing with it, and make sure to NEVER run two different versions of mud at the same time. I learned that one the hard way.

I thought someone pulled this off a while ago? Was it you, and then you had problems? sigh, fried memory.

Yeah, apparently majorbbs/WG for DOS doesn't even run on Windows Millenium (ME) since it breaks full DOS compatibility... sigh

I got a free legit copy of MajorBBS v5 last year, and after digging out a basement computer to copy the ridiculously old 5 1/4" floppies to usable 3 1/2" floppies, I disappointingly discovered that MajorBBS wouldn't install since it kept insisting that I needed "files=120" in CONFIG.SYS... Windows ME doesn't even *have* a CONFIG.SYS... grrr
