I'm thinking that it's entirely possible that chunk of code is so old that it goes back to the first betas on DSOE, perhaps Gold was the only form of currency and Del@Maint flag didn't exist yet. (This could probably be verified by searching through the really old release notes, shrug?)

Sure, but why check for gold then if there were no other currencies? =) It would just be checking the value field, not the currency type if it was doing that (likely because there was no currency type field back then).



In either case, with regard to dragon hide armour poofing, it's kind of silly that it's taken all this time to get it fixed (I think it is fixed in 1.11n, I'm not sure honestly because I haven't died and let my pile stick around past cleanup). If the stuff disappears at cleanup, one need only check the cleanup routine to find the culprit.
