uh, did you even read the error message from nightmare? it told you to go to settings and set the path to your data files. (assuming you are using nightmare v1.3).

go into start --> programs --> worldgroup --> utilities --> Security & Accounting. and then under mud put in your activation code.

what you need to do is SLOW DOWN. get one thing working at a time. install WG, make sure it works. disable you modules (http://mmb.forumshq.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4074), make sure it still works. then install mud, make sure it works. enter into the realm, create a guy, gain some exp, do it also with a "regular" user account. learn the wg options, learn the mud options, RTFM. then go ahead and start tinkering with nightmare.

Thank you everyone for the help. I finally figured out what I did wrong, I forgot to copy the wccmmud.dll file over, and now everything works properly, I hope.

Re-check all your settings, search for "can't create new users in wg" in the forums, then plead with someone like Invisi or Syn to fix it when you have tried all other means :)

you probably didn't read the dialog boxes during the WG install and set up WG for "Private" access only. Where as the sysop has to manually create the accounts. like i said you should be doin things one at a time since you dont know what you are doing. you shouldn't be messing with mmud and nightmare if you havent even gotten WG working completely. it's much harder to troubleshoot with 18 things in the mix instead of 1.



as for your problem, there is a program you can run to switch your mode from private, public, sign-up, etc but it doesn't actually change all the required settings. i'm not at a computer with WG installed right now so i dont know what the file name is. if you can actually search for things, search in the WG help for "switching modal" or "switching mode." you are probably better off reinstalling tho because like i said, not all the options are changed like they should and you probably wont be able create users still. i dont know which options you would need to change without looking it up.



what i would recommend is that you uninstall everything and delete the install directories (both c:\program files\galacticomm and c:\wgserv to be sure). then reinstall JUST WG. MAKE SURE IT WORKS COMPLETELY BEFORE INSTALLING ANYTHING ELSE. make some users, send some email, etc. then install mud and do the same. after you have a few new users in mud and have verified that it works then install nightmare.

Here is a cap of my problems, a non-sysop account Cannot access it at even though the account is there for him.



And no "NEW" users.



I'm thinking it might be just better to wipe and reinstall, and fix one thing at a time, like

Do what Syntax said. You set it up as private. Slow down a bit and accomplish one thing at a time. Much easier that way.
