why dont you try a crossover cable? that will link two NICs together (two active network devices) and then eliminate the hub all together. (if you happen to have a "Xbox LAN Cable," that is just a long ass crossover cable.)

I definitely agree with this. Auto-negotiation has tons of problems, and I don't think they've ever gotten the process done right. Even Cisco routers/switches have problems with it (they need to have it hard coded to 100, otherwise it'll always stick at 10).



Shrug, give it a shot with the NIC that you can change. See if it auto-negs right.

I was planning on having a few more comps on the network, but I haven't gotten around to finishing them yet...I'll look into getting new eq this weekend, if I can swing it.
