I'm too lazy to hook up my cd burner, and go get some blank cds. I have AOL, which is 100 times better than IRC. I have access to everything I want, I'm just too lazy to do what needs to be done.

i have machines up running xp pro, 2000 pro, 98 SE, 95, 3.1 and dos... i have an old laptop that runs 3 of those on 3 diff partitions on the 2 gig drive, it's got 98, 3.1 and dos 6.22.



man i found some old win95 floppies, that was tight... it was the last winOS on floppy, and i don't want to put on an external cd-rom so that worked ;)

I grew up on DOS, I still use winbloze 98 SE right now tho...I use 2k at work, and I'd still prefer dos hehe

i run windows XP on my current sys, and on my 386 (which is on right now) i use windows 3.1 and Dos 6.something. Id much rather be in Xp Pro than windows 98se....

I got the japanese version of windows 95 somewhere, not installed though.

It seemed to be pretty much the same thing as regular windows 95. Everything was just in japanese.



I run XP now though, would still be running 95 if it would run all the new software out there and would support the newest hardware.

I'd run dos if it supported multitasking and everything else. Actually, I'd run linux if it supported everything. I prefer a command line interface. I do most of my stuff in the dos shell anyways.

Yea I liked DOS because when you actually deleted shit, it WAS deleted. Not hidden in your trashbin, or it didnt turn out to be just a shortcut you deleted.



But I must say everyone always bitches about Winbloze crashing 3 times a day blah blah. My WinXP NEVER crashes. Runs in tip top shape at all times. However when I work on other Windows computers they crash all the time. So I think that 99% of the cases that result in Windows crashing is either not frequently taking care of your system (scandisk, cleaningout etc) or the program you are running itself is faulty.

Also back in the day with DOS my dad and I made this badass ANSI/Batch File menu system. Everytime you started up the computer it would come to a big blue screen with different options, F1-F12 or whatever to bring up submenus for different games or programs.

I agree, DOS was more direct, more reliable. But my WinXP has no problems - other than not being able to activate the stupid pos - it never crashes, all hardware I put in installs automatically, so no more driver problems. Oh, one thing that sucks is I can't get my DVD-Rom drive to work, but all in all WinXP is the best version of windows out to date, IMO..

win98 crashes on occasion

(so its not totally scandisk's fault - its the OS's)
