um. yeah. because that's what i get off my cogent connection. and that costs a LOT more than $40/month. If you really get that much i'm buyin some cable. saves me about $3,000 a month.

I have adelphia cable and there are only 3 people on it on my block... and the other people only really use it to get emails and sometimes browse the web. This thing hauls ass... its all about the area you are in. It used to peak at 3,333kps, but a little tweaking and a toshiba modem... I've seen it peak at 6,000kps... gotta love stupid cable techs that don't know how to install network topologies....

when cable was first offered in my area, i could get a 2,500 kps connection.. more like 1,000 kbs now i think, havent done any tests recently

It sucks to live 15 miles outside of the range of Adelphia Cable Modems. I have to suffer with a lousy friggin 56kbps cuz I refuse to pay $40-50 for DSL thru the lousy ass fone company. Now cable WITH internet access I'll pay for. Damn you Adelphia!! Why have you forsaken Yucaipa!

So would I, but I can't justify that.. 'sides, that takes away from my greenery fund. Either greens or DSL... hrm....
