it's hard to tell. you're given experience based on how hard the monster is and how much you hit it for. I think it's really cool. yeah overall you get a set amount of experience for killing a monster, but it makes partying different, which is good. if you hit it and kill it you'd get more experience then someone who was just along for the ride. and you get experience in mid battle, so if you're fighting something hard, you could run from it when you're ready to level lol
