check the textblock, it definately could. there is a tool that you can use to strip those weird characters off the textblocks under the tools menu.

you know what, i was just flipping thru the textblocks now, if you look at pretty much most of the first few text blocks...that odd character combonation that occurs in pretty much every single text block is what im seeing on my screen. any idea why its actually printing that? by the way, what is the difference between setting up a message (which is what i did) and the textblocks?
read my quote above from what i posted already.

copy and paste it into tools/textblocks/strip characters off the end and it will take them out.. i had it happen to me until i stripped it. Monsters never regened with those names again.

Hmm, warhawk was right. Looks like there may be something kinda screwy in monsters. All the monsters in the game that use the descriptor adjectives seem to be doing that now. Is there any fix but in going thru and changing all those messages?
blackhaze and i both told you what do do already

Um, i pasted the offending textblock into that tool and it deleted the entire string, not just the nonsense at the end :(
anyone have the textblock from the giant rat desc lying around that they could paste here?
think about it for a second, why would you paste the entire string into the stripper. you dont want it to strip the entire string do you? to get the information back, install mud to a empty directory, copy *.vir to *.dat and then set nightmare up for the directory and copy the textblock information that you lost.
