10.) automatic email when people reply to your posts can be enabled.
The advantages of this are:
A lot of people register for a forum, post and forget all about it. If someone answers their question, they are emailed and they come back. This increases user post rate. Ever wonder why there are 400+ users, yet less than 30 that post regularly? Everyone here stayed because they got something out of it. Either a question answered or otherwise. Many registered, posted, and never got their answer because frankly they never knew we answered them and they forgot the URL (email confirmation is not required for the board, so remembering the URL is up to them).
The automatic email feature can be enabled by default and for those who post a lot and do not wish to have tons of emails in their inbox can manually disable the feature in their control panel. In ikonboard, the user must manually subscribe to each post they wish to be notified on.
