well it doesnt say anything when it freezes, and i didnt have any dats open because i had recently reinstalled wg to a new dir, so the dir it was pointing to didn't exist.
And thats the only info i get so thats all i can work with.

... how the FORK do you expect to compile a FORKING update if you don't even have any FORKING dats open.

i didnt that time, i just opened it and tried to close it, then it froze, i think my comp is just screwed when it comes to nightmare and stuff.
All the other times when the dats have been open it just froze during the compile.

What OS are you running? I've noticed in Win98 that Nightmare uses a large amount of user resources, around 20% for each window I have open inside Nightmare(Monsters, Spells, etc). Might wanna see if those are getting exceptionally low.

I was using XP, i just installed 2k i'll see how that goes.

just an fyi, i develop it mainly on an xp machine, so i know it works with it.

well just to let you guys know, i installed win2k pro and it works fine (faster aswell) so i dunno what the problem was but everything works fine now.
