Hey I got a question..say someone starts a new char and someone else wants to help them..if you both go to kill a monster, will you both get the full exp or divided?

i, for one, could catch up faster, but a few things are holding me back. mostly it's the fact that i'm pretty much stuck with where i can kill until 1) i kill the green dragon, or 2) the fucking mayor spawns and i can do his quest and gain access to the eastern road (i find the wait on this quest to be pretty stupid).

until then i'm forced to kill cockatrices and ogres in the bayou, which i've been doing since level 2. people are forced to suck because quests have like 2-5 day waits on them.

that is, unless i'm missing something. from what i can tell, the only thing i can do is kill in the halls of the dead area (which i have been), the courts of chaos (which i have been), and the bayou. all the other stuff is quest related.

it's quite disheartening

if you're under the required level to be in there, you get less exp than ya should tho... so say a monster is worth 1350 experience normal... the person who is enough level to be there will get 675, and the person who is not will get somethin less, say 500 somethin

heh, killing a level 10 monster at level 6 is better than killing a level 6 monster at level 6. i'd rather get 200 exp rather than 50 exp.

Yes, you're definitely missing something. The Mayor's quest has nothing to do with being able to leave Ancalador. People are not "forced to suck" because of quest regen timers.

You can leave Ancalador by:

- You can go thru the eastern gate if you are level 8+.

- If the dmud game you are running has HARD MODE enabled (which it should... hint hint to the ops... any dmud game being played by experienced mudders should be using hard mode!), you can bribe the guardsman to get past the gate at level 5+.

- Or, kill the Green Dragon, or wait for someone else to kill it and run through, or get a friend to help you kill it, I mean is this so hard? :P You only need to get through there *once*, and then you can pray in Arcadia and make that your recall temple.

Aside from that, you didn't mention one area you can fight in (Elder Havenwood), exp isnt as good as courts of chaos or halls of the dead, but the money is higher than most areas in the game.

There are *NO* area restrictions in the entire game that are based on TIMED quests, btw. It's not an issue anywhere in the game, I'm not sure where/why you got that impression.

i got that impression from the room description at the east gate. it mentions how the mayor stops all movement except from adventurers that can prove themselves. since a) i hadn't done the mayor quest, and b) that was the room description, then i assumed i had to prove myself to the mayor via a quest.

i did manage to get to the next town after aragon killed the dragon, but people on morbid aren't too willing to help. i can't solo the dragon yet, heh. maybe once the demon prince drops his robes (i don't wanna drop the 100 gold to buy em) i can do it.

elder havenwood? is that the area past the cave? i don't seem to have a quest flag that allows access to that.

for now i'm pretty happy leveling up in the ancient caves.

are you suggesting that even though most of us have never played DoorMud specifically, we should be playing it in hardmode?
