The realm is too small to do this in, you'd have to make it bigger, or offer very large starting towns (each the size of silvermere or so). Every race area would need it's own town about the size of silvermere, or even half the size. It would need a newhaven arena, a sewers, a couple small bosses, a quest or two for some equipment, a slums area, a way to get to markus, and some low teen areas like the AC or black house. It is entirely do-able, and I would like to see it in a mud. Actually, I might incorporate something like this in my mud when I start editing it.

Nod.. it obviously would have to be an edited realm. There's no way to support this in a stock realm, even with *minor* edits.

I would probably make only a few starting towns. I'd have to seperate the races into categories though. Fifteen (or however many races there are) home towns would be horrible. Or, actually, I could take out the races and make them elf decent, ogre decent, troll decent, human decent, shit like that. That might work. Not "take out" the races, but change them into different races, same stats.

With proper balance, all you need is like 7 or so races to cover all bases.

I think I'll stick to 15 or whatever is in the damn game, I keep forgetting. I will put a lot of effort into balance, but the game will *never* be balanced out for everyone's views. I might even try to make the game more racial influenced, like race AND class limited quest weapons. So if you are a halfogre warrior, you get a very very strong but slow weapon, but if you are a elf warrior you get a light and quick but not very powerful weapon. I'd have to make it like each home town, with decents, because that would be way too many damn quest weapons to make if I do one for each race.

Actually, I'm thinking about expanding on the race starting towns. I'm actually thinking about guilds. Mage guild, priest guild, druid guild, warrior guild, and underground guild. Something like that. Just a thought.
.. Is there a way to set a room textblock (the room you start in) to check your class and/or race every few seconds, and teleport you into a certain room?

Guilds are ok, but must be done with care and be very extensive. Otherwise it's nothing but a few specialized stores.
Dunno about the textblock. I'd guess no though. Personally I kinda like BlackHaze's method better anyway.

I don't believe you could do that with a textblock, although I'm sure syntax could figure something out. The no sys goto's with class/race restricted exits would be one way to go about it.

nod, that sounds good to me. I just thought it would be cool to have someone enter the realm and be transported with a storyline, but I can do that other ways.
