All 10 of them got that hot? The CPU would have nothing to do with the card, like said before, if the voltage to the AGP port was to high, it would run hot.





You overclock things to get more performance out of them, you UP the voltage to make it stable at the higher frequency. In order to keep things ok, you keep it cool at higher voltage.

I don't overclock anything. I don't have the money to risk burning something out. If I could burn a video card or a mobo out and have the cash to go get a new one, I would overclock, but I can't take that chance. Thanks for the offer tho.



I've tried AGP and PCI video cards. They all do the same. Right now I'm running a PCI.

Honestly....as long as the temps are down...you wont "fry" anything. The only things I have broken were this.



1800+ From trying to unlock it(no need with the tbred cpus)

PC2100 From running it at 324mhz(instead of 266 default) w/o extra cooling

A7V-266E mobo, it went when the ram went lol



Its almot a hobby for me.



Right now I have it at 1.8ghz, but its not totally stable, but still cold. 28C idle. Its now something to do...get it stable at 1.8ghz

its a p2 equivalent cpu, it probably does need a good clean i just gotta get a time when my gf isnt using the net and bring down my bbs and shit to clean it out, ill have a look at the heatsinc and that aswell. im assuming that it being summer here must have something to do with it. But I've never had any problems with it before or any previous comp.



How do i go about checking how powerfull the fan is?



where do i get this heatsink glue stuff, ive never seen it advertised even in the computer guide or anything.



And i dont really have much cash so thats why i havn't gone to round cables, i've looked into it before but atm its not fesable.

If your looking for any cooling products..just look for overclocking, or cooling computers on a search engine. Heatsinkfactory.com is where I got my stuff from, I think...

well i dont have any arctic silver, no computer shops sell it so i'll either have to wait till i start work or order some off the net, so far I have cleaned it,with metholated spirits, and have also sanded it down. At the moment i havn't got any heat sink compound on it, will it still work ok without any?

Well, it "will", but the compound helps it transfer heat. You can see how ya did with the cleaning/sanding(make sure its a mirror finish:)), then when/if ya get some AS3 or something, apply that.
