What if the sysop has no knowledge of wg, ansi art or any other stuff like that. He just barely put up a mud, and would rather spend his time working on edits and such?

If you have no knowledge of WG, ansi art, or any other stuff like that, and just barely got a mud up, I think you need more experience before you are running a public board. Another reason why I wouldn't join. This is just my opinion tho.

so - all i need to do to morbid is take away the intro ansi screen - and speed will NEVER logonto my bbs!!!

Check the recent list. You seen me on there lately? Didn't think so. The only reason I logged onto morbid the first time last year was because of the nice ansi intro. Same with Lunar. It's a personal pet peeve.

No, that's not true. I know enough about WG to run a BBS, and if I don't know something, I have about 10-15 people on my buddy list, of which at least 5 are on at all times, that can help.

if it don't have nice ansi at login - or all the questions havnt beed reduced/formatted - it just don't feel like the sysop gives a fuck.



but my days of getting a system 90% complete b4 i bring it up are long gone - no i just bring it up looking like shit - and make slow edits to it... IMO it gives the users a sense of i care, and im working on updating it n' all that gayness

Personally, I could give 2 shits about ansi art...hey if it's there and nice...that's kewl. If it's not...who cares? I'd rather them spend time on the mud rather than trivial stuff that doesn't affect me in mud

Who gives a fuck how someone sets up their board.. you're not logging to look at the pretty pictures, nor will you be answering those account creation questions every time. You're logging on to play mud, so that's the only thing that should matter.



Take this dude for example -- no picture, default creation questions, but look at all the time he spends on editing mud.. Sure it's nothing to what other sysops have done, but it's a start. He's learning and updating it just about every day it seems.
