well shit with 128 mem XP uses like ALL of that leaving nothing else for any programs. SHouldve went with a MINIMUM of 256 ram. I myself have 512 and wanna upgrade sometime soon. Get more ram and the comp will probably work better for you. You can buy ram pretty damn cheap nowadays if you look around a bit. I went to a comp show and got certified working ram for really cheap.

You can't even run 2k on 128 mb....lol I had 160 on at one point and it would take years to do anything. It runs real nice on 512 mb

XP has issues with a host of games from what I hear. Yet another reason not to mess with the demon spawn!

actually XP is designed as a gaming OS unlike 2k so XP is supposed to be better for games ya just have to make sure ya have all the updated drivers and patches and such cause its very finiky like a woman and you need to cajole it into playing games but it IS supposed to run them better then 2k. Ive only ever had one game gimme a problem on my 2k machine and that was battlefield 1942, didnt run cause i havent updated my vid driver ina while. once I did it ran smooth as glass.

Doom3 alpha hasn't been finalized, you can't compare that to today's games. If you take *ANY* leaked alpha, it will run MUCH slower than the normal game. You probably get 1-7 FPS average on doom3 alpha. I guarantee a normal system will get 15-25 when it is released.

bullshit speed you're full of it.

mine gets 33 FPS on doom3 alpha, and mine ain't nearly the best. you're WAY off.... best i've seen on the alpha tho is 39 FPS, which does still suck ass.

If you think 39 FPS is shitty on that game, you are on crack, that is smooth. I'm going by statistics, doom3 alpha averages 1-7 FPS on normal systems. This is BEFORE that patch that was released by a company other than ID software. You are probably running the patched version, which I forgot about. If not, 39FPS is nice.
